Workstation has more features, like taking snapshots before something crashes it, recovering from the snapshots...
For VM Workstation... you can create the VM images and then load it to the VMWare... but not for VMPlayer... (can load, but not create)
There's also copying and pasting... VMPlayer cannot copy and paste, VM Workstation can... hehe -
