today, i saw a boy....

he was about.... i would say.... 14, or 15. he was with his parents. and we were in this shop that sells branded watches.
the prices ranged from $150 - $1050 (at this point, i stared really hard at those 3 watches and asked myself, why the hell should a watch cost 1k?! it is preposterous!!)
ok, back to the boy. his parents were there. and they were going to buy him a watch.
a watch.
in that shop.
a freaking 200-300 bucks watch.
for a 15 year old boy, who was just browsing carefreely through the shop, asking the salesgirl to unlock the glass doors and hand him this watch and that watch to look at the (freaking) expensive intricate designs on it, and to see if it is too heavy for his wrist etc etc.
i..... i have to admit, that i have very mixed feelings about this. but i guess they can be summarised into one word:
disturbed.
actually, 2 words:
freaking disturbed. -

$129.. it's was a swatch.. but i accidentally smashed it
and all my life i've only had one watch at a time.. i will use it until it dies..

i know.. but it's something i needed there and then.. i was without a watch and i needed one badly coz of work..

whats so disturbing? U cant just view that incident and judge just like that? Why cant that be the first birthday present he got? Maybe he is just adopted by the parents and the parents got him his first present? Or maybe his parents got a windfall via TOTO or 4D and they finally managed to get that boy his first birthday present ever in his life...
