nope... he looked at a few watches, and they are not G-shock at all...Originally posted by crosshairs:Is it a G-SHOCK?
hmmm... i guess, personally, i'd rather spend 200 bucks on 20 $10 watches than one one $200 watch.Originally posted by Xarxos:I think it's alright to spend $200+ on a watch. A good quality dress watch.
I suppose the way I think about it is that I prefer the things I own not to spoil so easily and quickly. I also prefer my things to be repaired, rather than just throwing away something cheap.
Just like... when you buy food, you can buy cheap food, good food, and then you can buy delicacies. Compare this with : $10 watches, $200 watches, and $5000 watches. ^_^
Aiyo, if you get the more sturdy ones you can get at $200, it'll probably outlast all the 20 $10 watches you have.Originally posted by starblue:hmmm... i guess, personally, i'd rather spend 200 bucks on 20 $10 watches than one one $200 watch.
i like the variety. and i know i prob will be too lazy "protecting" and taking care of the more expensive item and it will end up spoiling sooner than it should anyway.
If I say, later you jump and hit the ceiling how?Originally posted by starblue:o.O are those.... swatches u collected back then expensive??
yah... if a $30 watch can last u 6 years, for $200 bucks u can get 7 watches to last u 42 years.... can a $200 watch last 40 years?Originally posted by seow:Aiyo, if you get the more sturdy ones you can get at $200, it'll probably outlast all the 20 $10 watches you have.
The difference between a $30 casio watch i got many years back and a cheap watch is big enough to me.
The casio lasted six years while the el cheapo watches went kapoot like nothing.
and.... how many did u "collected"?Originally posted by LazerLordz:If I say, later you jump and hit the ceiling how?
Hmm, 90-120 per watch?
Hahahhahaa.. That's alright then =) Then in your case, 20 $10 watches is probably a better choice.Originally posted by starblue:hmmm... i guess, personally, i'd rather spend 200 bucks on 20 $10 watches than one one $200 watch.

hear to that.Originally posted by Xarxos:Hahahhahaa.. That's alright then =) Then in your case, 20 $10 watches is probably a better choice.
I've dropped my watch a few times, and it still works perfectly. This watch that I have is about 200-300, and I've had it for about 4 years now. I don't intend to buy another watch ever, and if this one breaks, I'll just get it repaired. So in my case, a good watch is probably a good choice.
hmmm.. i guess when i really do spend such money (and really, god forbids that) on something as frivilous as a watch, i'd make it damn sure it's gonna last me a life time.Originally posted by Xarxos:Hahahhahaa.. That's alright then =) Then in your case, 20 $10 watches is probably a better choice.

Originally posted by starblue:still, i have to ask.... why/who will buy a watch at those prices? half of the watches in that shop is over 400 bucks....

dun worry, i dun think my drunkenmind can really be shocked into jumping high enough to hit the ceiling...

See those with so many things on the watch (hour, minutes, calender, day, moon/sun, other countries' time etc), they are very expensive (at least $10k if you are lucky).
they are the type that must be taken care gently. No force.
Not for those who are sporty cos you will spoil it easily.
those watches have sensitive balance/spring. they are expensive because they are complicated and hard to make.
Sometimes i also wonder, since there are so many arrow on your watch, will there be a time where you see the wrong arrow and be late for meeting and get fired?
I guess i still prefer digital watch or hand phone.
It's probably a Seiko Premier - Kinetic watch which has a Perpetual Calendar FunctionOriginally posted by starblue:
yah yah... i saw a lot of dials on the 1k watch i saw... was wondering what those were for... they dun make much sense to me.
that wound be about 400 bucks.Originally posted by LazerLordz:think there's around 4..
and to think i feel 200 dollar watch absurd....Originally posted by maxie:I own a $1,500 Tag Heuer watch and it's different from Seiko/Guess/Swatch watches. It feels sturdy, looks presentable whether in a suit or in casual berms.
Not only that, it's the best purchased ive ever made because ive got my own piece of jewellery. In comparison, gals spend their money on LV/Guccis.
Why can't we do the same?
