Very curious about how parallel import works nad how does it actually saves cost?
Can some knowledgable members help me out with this?

parallel imported cars are usually endowed with fewer or lower-end features compared to those from the big agents, esp in the interior sense.

PIs nowadays are regarded to have lower margins than agents. Not sure how true.
Agree with TOD that, in terms of packaging, most PIs cannot match agents. That's for obvious reasons such as preferential treatment from manufacturers and economy of scale. Packaging aside, some PI cars come with higher performance specs. Eg, JDM cars from PIs have higher specs than equivalent export models that are carried by agents
Suggest that if you are looking at PI, it should ideally be for a car that is not available from a local agent. That or you prefer higher performance specs (eg. jdm) for the same car.

from what i heard, parallel importers actually buy and register the car in the country, then de-register it the next day and ship it out.

Thats not always true. Sometimes its the other way round.
Anyway, PI cars have higher parfs compare with sole agent cars.
