Btw, i tink it's virtually impossible to prevent car theft. Take for an example, in the newspaper, a singaporean drove up to KL during the wkends. He apparently put a steering and gear lock in this car. He left and came back an hour and a half, gosh.... His car was stolen. It's virtually impossible to prevent car theft esp. in Malaysia. They are, mind u, are PROFESSIONAL car theif. So unless u wanna prevent car theft, u can follo Mr. BEan, take out the whole damn steering wheel frm the car...
So, moral is dont drive ur car to malaysia, cos they are all mad thiefs eyeing for ur cars -

Before leaving your, you can decide to take either one of the suggestions below:
1) Place a bloody pig head on top of your car and write in chinese or malay or broken english or just this simple sign->O$P$
Confirm the thief will think twice, why he would want to steal a car the loan shark is after.....
2) Place for sale sign in front of car's window screen, 350K mileage, been into 5 bad car accidents, missing spare parts, will accept cash for $1k only!
Theif doesn't know what's under the hood... or whether the car is worth stealing.... *pls note* this method only works for old cars...
3) Place a writ of seizure on all car doors, stating that the car has been seized by the courts and shall be compounded shortly by the police. Mark in RED, 'its an offence is rip the seal is a punishable offence, the police are looking for this car. WATCH OUT'
Well, this isn't fool proof but it sure will draw alot of attention, which is good.
4) Take out the car's transitor. <- long drawn out process
Theif would have to break into the car, pump the hood, implant another transitor, then start the car. Highly unlikely
For the last option:
5) Buy these following items; 1) 4 sets of wheel clamps, 2) 2 steering wheel lock 3) 2 brake and accelerator locks 4) buy police uniforms and badges, place a uniform on back passenger window clearly stating the HIGH rank. Place police badges or ID tags on the car seat and back seat. 5) Place a pit bull in car's back seat or place 10 snakes all over car seats 6) Leave blood stains on the driver's door and the trunk, also the trunk should have a piece of blood stained shirt or skirt hanging out 7) place a blood stained knife on the front driver window
I gaurantee with the last option, that your car shall NEVER be stolen.

I don't think parking at bright places will help either... was reported in yesterday's papers that this family parked their brand new toyota MPV at a hotel garage with security guards... and the car had an expensive car alarm system and immobilisers... but it still got stolen!Originally posted by Shackks:Hi.. I have a friend who witnessed some car thieves in their act. He was in his car in a Johor hotel carpark when he saw the whole thing. They were trying to open the car door and they even knew my friend was looking at them. They stared back at him, daring him to do anything. Needless to say, the car they were trying to steal had a Singaporean carplate....
Very jiak lark hor? open daylight robbery.
