"LEGAL" racing?

Hi all... I am new to this Forum... and fairly new to Singapore... can anybody advise me if there is any "LEGAL" car racing event in Singapore? On-road, Off-road or near Singapore?

but hor... er.... LTA... er... to show who's boss... have stopped all legal racing also... so for legal racing.... not in the near future, no. but malaysia got a lot of legal circuit racing and even proper rallies going on! can head up north and check it out.

or rich enough to buy piece of private land to do a racing.. heee... 
Never brought my car to Malaysia... Does anybody know any good source of information on events?? THANKS!! -
Some car clubs who book the entire track might organise a small drag competition for the fun of it...

I think the sg gov SHOULD build a race track in sg... be it big or small...
at least its better than building casinos..
and sum more dey wanto increase the number of tourists visiting sg...
dis race track can really boost tourism in sg... i guess there are more car enthusiasts than gamblers in the world...
i speak on behalf of the ppl in sgforums who are really desperate to see rare cars..

TOTALLY Agree... Instead of just saying "No" "No"... Educate us and those who drive like s*it by providing the space & oppotunity to learn!!! Suspending all "Legal" racing in Singapore may not be the best way... If we loose those oppotunities... we all know what's gonna happen... I mean.. where else do we enjoy driving other than on a street... (I don't mean to encourage those street racing, but we can only drive either on a street or "Legal" racing event.. or in our imagination... or on PS2!!) Racing does not always mean "speed"... could be technique.. manner... safety... Last time I heard... SMSA was proposing to modify the streets at Marina South... to create a racing circuit... think it's still in the talks...

i agree casinos are pretty bad places to be, but it does generate more revenue than a race track
maybe can be like macau and have both , at least there'll be something fun to do -
Well i'm a newbie here but i wud like 2 share my views...
Y not transform sentosa into a race track? would b better than a casino or musical fountain or some crap like dat... at least pple can test out deir skills rather than sit down dere & lose $$$...
And oh... 2 b fair, build a small practice place 4 P-platers as well. Can ar... one side slow, the other side fast fast liao... -

dats true... but so far if u were 2 find an island as big as sentosa... the closest would b pulau hantu... not counting ubin la... coz all i noe the other islands in sg r very small... furthermore if want to transfer ur ride 2 dat island very leceh one... mus take boat... no causewae... lol
btw y nyp campus so big ar??? cannot make circuit dere ar?? den nyp sure alot of racers! -

I think you are right that we should also have a place for motorsports.
If there are proper place, the safety aspect will be taken care of.
All street racers etc will make sure that they wear helmet, use the proper bucket seats meant for motorsports, proper struts, clothings etc. This way, motorsports are safe. Otherwise, if there are no proper place, Singaporeans will drive to Malaysia and spend there.
Likewise, those people who have already modified their cars will try on public roads which are more dangerous.
Like legalised prostitution in Geylang. At least safety checks, health checks etc are done and taxes are paid and collected. Otherwise, non legal activities in other locations, more health hazards and problems. Also there are many foreign talents coming which we do not know, whom solicit their business in pubs or public areas and never tax them before they leave .
