I'm 18/m/chinese. Firstly, i admit i'm a noob, need some advice. Firstly, i do not understand y pple buy parallel importers car instead of original distributors. I do admit tat parallel importers are much cheaper, abt 10k-20k cheaper. However,i believe that there are more cons than pros of buying frm a parallel importer. For example,
1.)The Parallel Import(PI) of Nissan 350z aka Fairlady cost cheaper. However,the parallel imported 350z can reach a top speed of 180km/h, whereas the 350z frm Tan Chong Motors have a top speed of 260km/h
2.)The Mazda 6 frm Parallel importers is cock-up. I mean , when u start a mazda 6 frm a parallel importer, there is a flashing icon, like a blinking green man traffic light. Mazda claims that they are the only original company that can unlock this flashing icon frm parallel imported mazda 6.
3.) Lastly, a parallel imported Civic or any other car is not subjected to warranty or servicing or maintenance frm KahMotors(in this case).
It really puzzles me y still quite a number of locals buy parallel imported cars when the cons listed above outweigh the pros. Why they still buy PI cars even though PI cars are considered to be more inferior to the original ones ???????????????? -
Parallel imports cars are not inferior to agents. Parallel imports cars are JDM (Japan Domestic Model) which mean that these cars are built for the Japanese home market. Most if not all PI car, are made fully in Japan. Agents' car are usually built for exports market and will differ from JDM models and nowaday to cut down cost, more and more model are been built in and import from ASEAN.
Why Parallel Importers exist?? Simply is that they offer consumers a wider choice. What agents sell, PI dun sell. If they sell, they will go for different specification. E.g. agent's RAV4 is 4-wheel drive whereas; PI RAV4 is 2 wheel.
What PI do is that they give consumer more alternative and choices. Other car may have bigger engines or different design. That is why, PI and agent car is different even if they have the same name.
Another reason that people buy PI car is the higher OMV value. For a car selling at the same price, PI will have a higher OMV, which mean lower depreciation per year and higher scrape value. So if a same car cost the same but the OMV is different, please ask yourself what is happening.
If there is no PI, can you compare the price??? Agents, then can set any price they wan and consumer will suffer from a monopoly.
Why agents dun service PI cars? If you dun buy car from them, y should they provide free warranty or servicing? If yr boss dun pay u, will u work for him??? If you want them to service yr car, no problem, just pay.
I am not sure if that answer your questions. But parallel importers must exist so that consumer will benefits. whether they buy from who, will depend on each individual's needs and preferences.

i'm no expert but here goes
lowering the car helps reduce the turning circle for a car
also helps make the car look cool
and adds stiffness and car makes less body roll
the 180km/h speed limit can be overwritten really easily, jus need to buy a certain electronic instrument and splice a few wires

i think the purpose is something like a radiator but its bigger
thus when ur car is turboed,it will not overheat easily...

lower car -> lower centre of gravity/mass -> higher level of stability
not a techinical pro, but rough idea is that turbocharger is driven by the exhaust gas while supercharger is driven more directly from the engine's revolutions. in comparison, turbo's minus pt is its lag, but it arguably produces greater power effect than supercharger.
