Only contact between car and road...what tyres do you use?

Yah, just wrecked my Getz a couple of weeks ago. Was using the stupid "Hankook" tyres that came along with it. Skidded even on dry road and I was about to change them but it "changed" me first when it skidded way too far on a wet surface. Got them changed together with my poor car repairs. Now using Yokohama Aspec DB, not really a performer on wet roads but definitely much better than what I had. Trust me, invest on a good set of tyres to protect your car. All that being said, so what tyres do you use or recommend? Please state performance on dry/wet, noise and durability.
I just when thru the forum and saw many topics about tyres. Maybe let's talk about something else related... What about rims? Using what brand? Taiwan made or others? -
Usign cheapskate Kumho Tires.
Although it has costed me some accidents, but i think that it helps in training me to become a more skillful driver. One that has feeling for the limits of the car and the limit of the tires.
Once i feel that i am good enuff then would i move on and appreciate better tires.

This training can be a very expensive lesson cos you can never know the limits, somemore based on your feeling only. You will never know the extent of your accidents, since it is an accident. heh..i wasnt reprimanding your or anything so no need to highlight that "MY two cents"
if u want good tires in both wet and dry..i have seen a review that compared between quite a few tires recently..
if u are interested then i will go dig up the thread somewhere and post it here.
U are right..my accidents have been costly..but they have also been reduced.
most impt i find myself getting to know the handling of my car better. -

The lesson I learned this time is rather expensive as my 2 months old car is wrecked, lucky never gana main engine. Even luckier is I not hurt. -
actually, Aspec DBs are not that bad in the wet? I used them on the Airtrek when I was in sg. In damp conditions, it performs almost like it's in the dry. Personally I like Michelin, Yokohama n Continential. I've tried them all before and I like the way they perform, and more importantly, the progressiveness of the breakaway.

I dunno much about the my Aspec DB yet, cos just got my car from the workshop today. Was using the "Hankook" though when it happened. My friend has been driving his Civic with the Aspec DB says it is quiet and acceptable performance. Guess traction is given up for the noise reduction?

The only thing that stops a 1 tonne car going at 150km/h to 0km/h is maybe a A4 size sheet of paper worth of rubber... So tires are important...
At this moment i am using Yokohama Advan Neova AD07... Damn blardy noisy. but when it need to stop, it does the job REAL well... -
I'm using continental premium contact... way better than the bridgestone potenza i used last time, not as noisy, better control in wet conditions as well...

continental launched a tyre a few months back rated for 370km/h at least. It's currently the world's highest speed rated production tyre.

Im on BFGOODRICH G-sport...excellent in the wet... esp even on corners...
TOYO Trampio DSOCII my previous tyre was great too...
both are a little noisy but the grip is really no horse run -
i'm on potenza GIIIs bridestones
tyres are alright, not hard core peformance kind but it does the job
one of my deciding factors was price and i got them cause they were on promotion at time of purchase
for tyres i'd only use established brands, none of that korean crap
