I've been with Cityspeed for 1 year. Generally, their cars are in pretty ok condition. What I do not like is their customer service - not exactly friendly. Also, they're kind of inflexible when it comes to changing your bookings. Apparently, you've to pay $20 admin fee for changing your booking. I tried to change my hourly booking to a day-package and I was told that I have to pay $20. After some wrangling, they waived it.Originally posted by DarthVdr:Hi Guys, I've been seriously wanting to own a car for a while now, and after having rented long term lately, and having worked out the cost involved in owning a car, I've decided that it would be best to look seriously into car sharing. at least for the short term.
My predicament right now is, should I go with Cityspeed (seems cheaper, though their cars seem slightly older and smaller in terms of numbers) or NTUC Carcoop (newer cars, more variety). Would appreciate it if anyone out there who is using their services shares his/her experience here? Thanks in advance!
if u intend to buy car den dun rent...On the contrary, i feel that car rental is much worth than buying a car.
cos i think car rental r very high...

But then again, so does NTUC![]()
Hi, I thought the joining fee (including deposit) is about $330? How did you manage to get your joining fees wavered? Does this mean you paid only $200?Originally posted by sillyme:I'm also with cityspeed. Signed up recently. They are waiving joining fees.
I think what's more important to look at is the car pickup location. I chose cityspeed over carcoop because their cars are parked just behind my block.
Originally posted by pqr:Precisely the reason why I'm looking at car sharing! When I add up the sums, it just doesn't make sense to own a car! Besides, I've got both NTUC as well as Carcoop lots just below my block!! One thing I heard (not sure) is that the the price indicated by Cityspeed includes GST, whereas for NTUC, you still need to pay the GST on top of whatever is published! Anyone can comment on that?

Have you consider the interest, road tax, insurance, petrol and maintenance when you buy a car? Not just the price that you are getting?
Car sharing take care of all the stuff. You just pay as u need.
Yes, car rental per usage is expensive but at least i will not be in debt for the next 3 to 10 years of loan
I am with cityspeed. I like their timing and charges. Theur cars are fine.
The $0.30 per km for NTUC is only for the "frequent User". Unless you are a frequent user and their station is more conveince to your house, i recommand cityspeed.
PM me if you decide to use cityspeed bcos i [b]maybe able to get you a better deal.

Renting a 1.6L Auto car over the weekend would cost anything between $200 to $300, depending on make & age. Add pertrol + parking and you get the rough figure.Originally posted by sbst275:I would rather rent a car
yup. $200 including the refundable $100 deposit.Originally posted by DarthVdr:Hi, I thought the joining fee (including deposit) is about $330? How did you manage to get your joining fees wavered? Does this mean you paid only $200?
