  HI,
  
  Any one has drive a Mazda 323 1.6 (M) before?
  Any comments?
  
  How much do u think year 2001 Mazda 323 1.6 (M) worth? Assuming the paper value of the car is 36kplus?

  We have a 2002 variant. It is a reliable workhorse and we have no problems with it. The only downside is that tyre noise insulation is not as good as a Corolla's.

  I think can only scrap the car.
  Reasons :
  --> manual car has little re-sale value.
  --> more than 2 years, hence cannot re-export.
  --> Mazda 323 engine chassis is old technology, at around year 2000.
  --> There is nothing special about Mazda engine,when compared to toyota and honda.

  At least the the agents aren't stuck up planks. By the way, ours is the facelifted version.

  Wat do u mean cannot re-export?
  That mean the dealer should sell me near to paper value which is 36k plus?

  Normally cars less than 2 years of age could be re-exported, hence fetch higher values than scraping.
  
  Mazda 323 1.6(M) year 2001, its engine manufacture year should be year 2000.
  Indeed, Mazda engine chassis is similar to Ford Laser.
  Note that Mazda Japan is owned by Ford motor, and Ford Laser is also using the same engine as mazda 323 in year 2001.
  Of course now, Ford laser is made in Philiphines, no longer from Japan.
  
  If you talk to those experienced technical staff in service centre, they can tell you that Mazda 323 year 2001 engine chassis see most of them scraped in the market, by now.
  
  Furthermore, generally Mazda 323 $OMV is low. With starting Mazda 1.3M $OMV at around $12K.
  
  The reason why I know much on the Mazda 323 engine, cos I am currently Ford Laser owner, which uses similar engine.
  And I can tell you the engine is below average performance, especially after 3 years.
