Servicing at Authorised Dealer? Or Normal Workshops?

2 Different schools of thought. Some folks telling me that servicing at
1)Authorised Dealers will give u top quality service, genuine parts, selling car later would be easier etc....
2) Normal Dealers are obviously a lot cheaper, but lousy service, parts aren't good, some even cheat u so u'll end up going back time and again, and when you go back to an authorised dealer, they will not service your car ever....
What's good? What's bad? Any views anyone? -
i am sure even authorised dealers will "cheat" you at times by asking you to change this and that when it is not really necessary.
As long as someone recommend you a trustworthy serving workshop, i feel is ok to let them service.
By the way, if i tell you that ITE balastier can do NORMAL servicing would you dare to let the students do? -
i forgot to mention that the cost of serving at ITE balastier is 1/3 of the normal servicing price.

What kind of experience do they have?
i learn about their service when i attend a talk on "how to buy 2nd hand car".
The lecturer told us that their 2nd students are skilled enough already plus they are supervised so.....furthermore, is only normal servicing. Not repair...
Also, they take their time to do their servicing, so quality is assured. Also the lecturer added that they have the original tools of many cars model as they have the blessing from the authorised dealers. True or not, i did not check
But i did saw a mer c class in their workshop for them to learn
Both side win as student learns and owner save $. -
hahah if u not scared to get a few scratches and dents, by all means go for it....
esp for older cars, don't really care much already, if very new car, hart pain

normal servicing is ok.. if new, nothing much to change, if you find a fault yourself then you ask them to change. if they ask you to change, say no need.

In ITE Balestier, it is serviced by 2nd year student and they are supervised by a teacher. Currently the 3 students that do the servicing are the few top students. Getting scratch I think rarely will kana... unless you really that sway.

Is that cheaper than servicing at BM?
