Neighbourhood police car mod??

Hi,
That day i took my brother beng-civic out for a spin, it is mod with filters and exhaust to give it a deep street racing sound..
At this traffic light near my house, a woolands neighbourhood police car was next to me, a decent looking about 2000 toyota corolla.
The light turn green, vrooom (deep sound from the engine like some kind of illegal filter or whatever parts there are in there)...it just accerlate away FAST!! leaving a loud deep sound and tail lights for me to see and hear.. -stunned-
and this is not the only time i seen this..those nornal mazda 323 as well..
now come the question. did the police stun those parts from those inspection
and fixed it on their machine? It is a legal illegal street racing machine..god damn them!
Do anyone know...
what is happeining? -
and maybe fit with cold air intake or pods also..

Think about it lah... if they don't up the speed and performance of their patrol cars... then how will they be able to catch anyone driving a faster car?? Anyway, it's not as if the policemen do it themselves... probably SOP for the police force... so they can keep up with those speedsters if necessary...

of course i am not surprise if those TP mod their volvo or bmw...
but this is a normal sallon used for patrol...thats makes me curious to know more.. -

Those disgusting corollas, 323s and lancers are totally no mod man... tyres are lousy, sometimes drive until botak... driveshaft creaking...
filter is stock stock stock... exhaust note prob come from the poorly maintained engine and always knocking it into kerbs, making it lao hong liao. -

frcs got nalpalm one, so don't think got nalpalm then can run away from police cars. we also got the Viper car thing dat can stop your car gradually

I agree. These police cars are knackered. Most of them have faulty head and rear lights.
Unless you are exagerating, a normally-asiprated Corolla would no way muster the kind of acceralation powress.
The deep throated sound could be the result of a blown exhaust. -

Actually i don't think our police depend on their absolute car speed in order to catch speedsters or criminals... They either use speed cameras or if they want to physically haul the driver over, they'll set up road blocks. Or they can simply radio ahead for another car to intercept in front... Anyway i don't think police cars are modded... imagine what a bad image that'll give the police force, if their cars are fitted just like the guys they're meant to catch, with giant tailpipes booming away... -
do u know tat police car 1st gear can drag up to a max of 90km/h???? so does tats explain why it was tat fast even when its in a KLL condition.....

The FACT is normal patrol cars are not mod at all. What you saw is that the driver floored the accelerator and 'gun' the gear. They don't have to care about FC, gearnox replacment, clutch replacement and so forth. They can always go back to their station and get another replacement car. Police cars are normally scrap at 7th year.
The expressway patrol car are also not modded. They are already high perfomance vehicle like the S60 turbo, so naturally they are fast.
So the story is we can beat them anytime if we discard FC and is ready to pay for a hefty repair bill but who would be a fool to do that...

They don't have to care about FC, gearbox replacment, clutch replacement and so forth. They can always go back to their station and get another replacement car. Police cars are normally scrap at 7th year.
The expressway patrol car are also not modded. They are already high perfomance vehicle like the S60 turbo, so naturally they are fast.
So the story is we can beat them anytime if we discard FC and is ready to pay for a hefty repair bill but who would be a fool to do that...

policeman dun need to care for the car one. they everytime ram the accerator like no ppl business. and those saloon police car they always drive very fast one... dunno they so gan cheong for what .
the car not theirs mah... they dun need to pay anything. as long as the end of the day when they return the car, they never bang anything and never pull out the gear stick can liao. -
The BMWs and the Volvos have always been rumoured to be fitted with tougher suspensions and transmissions.

As normal patrol car, I dont think it is modded as the purpose of the patrol car is not used catch speedster anyway. Yes, they can nail you for dangerous driving, but I think if they cannot stop you, they will not start to chase you. As for expressway patrol car, I believe that it is modded. Imagine a standard S40 or a bmw 320, already difficult to catch up with a already speeding normal car, let alone catching up faster sport cars.

Hrm... not too sure... but I was on the expressway once... and saw this white Civic speeding away... cutting in and out of lanes damn dangerously... then less than 30 seconds after it passed... a police car went past too... nearly the same speed as the civic... and probably more... since I think it was chasing the civic...

speed is can...but if overshot the limit set by Commander than later have to answer to some fella in the Division, laychey lah
