Dear friends,
Thinking of buying mitsubishi lancer auto, due to its recent promotion, selling at $63,988 with its 3 plus offers... free 1st year insurance, free 2 months installment, free 3 upgrades...
Also heard that the FC not very good, coz of its SOHC engine, In-line 4-cylinder, 6-valve, ECI-MULTI fuel system... not responsive...
what you think? or there are better cars which you can recommend?

manual lancer should be ok. i think the feedback for the auto is that its sluggish. but should be ok also so long as u dun expect rally car performance from a family saloon.

regarding the 3 free upgrades, juz call them up to confirm? or go showroom and ask? dun shoot me if im wrong, but shld be leather seats, sports rims and reverse sensor? or maybe v-cool or any of the films....

hi i just bot a new lancer manual sports.only 1 mth old so far it is really great drivin it.it really looks sporty n after addin ralliart stickers n custom decals it looks good.also added in gauge meters for a racing look.strut bar also.think auto not so gd as u guys know.more power for manual as i raced with a auto.so no worries gettin a manual.make sure u dun regret yr buy coz u must feel comfy in the car u drive like me!

FC for the mitsubishi lancer MANUAL is good... for me.. I travel on the expressway everyday and the best F.C I clocked was 16.1 km/litre...
of coz if u are the type that step on the accelelator like rally car drivers..then that;s a different story. -

How much you paid for your lancer? Was thinking manual or auto....
feel like auto dam boring but when traffic jam and up slope got use.
Manaul one got the feel, just like u and the car become one ........
May i know how much u pay for downpayment and the interest rate?

sluggish??? most auto cars are slow in picking up...basically that is all CVT technology is about what......that is called comfortable pickup...smooth taking off......
can't u appreciate its aerdynamic fighter plane look?
a classy superb Daimler Chrysler design......
very 'solid' feel inside when u r driving.....as i said last time long long ago, the handling is very good.....
because of super aerodynamic design for a saloon car, its fuel consumption is somehow compensated......
try making a U-turn.......see beh smooth and good handling!!!
the dashboard is quite the same as new Mercedes Benz....like a seagull wing spreading from left to right!!! -

Got my lancer in June this year...the COE was the highest at that time..the COE is better now... if I had waited 2 mths..then the prices would have dropped.
Paid $69K for the manual sports... listen to me..the sports looks cooler... and I think when u want to sell it later, it'll be more attractive than the normal lancer saloon... I downpayment 12k and monthly is about $590 for 10 years..
price only includes 1/2 year road tax.. the interest rate..I cannot remember, 2.xx something... I think... but I think the deals are better now... so you can go check it out..
and yes..manual you "feel" that you're driving..but then when it comes to slopes etc..then jialat...last friday, I was at B3 of Taka carpark and had to come up and there was a traffic jam on the spiral up the carpark...wow..I handbrake-clutch-control for like 10 times..haha... next time must park upstairs..hehe..

Like instalment + parking + fuel. Do you drive your car very offen, i mean like use it for work or u just use it for to and fro between home n office?

No kidding..16.1 km/litre..but that's the peak I had 2 weeks ago... of coz if I meet traffic jam along the expressway...(especially coz of accidents!) then it'll drop down to 15km/litres... the trick is not to accelerate to hard when moving off...step on accelerator appropriately...keep to 90kmph/100kmph... also, I travel long distance on expressway... about 58km = 29KM x2 per day from AMK area to jurong area..
And Car Dreamer, I dun pay for parking at my house...and my parking at work is free...I can't tell you how much I pay for parking... but for petrol..it's ranges from $140 to $160 per month... depends if I go travelling a lot or not... for about 350~400Km per week.. and I drive to and fro work + going out on weekends etc...
Sports model of Lancer look better...with spoiler, front dam, rear dam, sports (OZ Racing) rims.. etc etc..interior is also EVO like... but the speedometer is not the EVO one..of coz.. -

From what i saw my friend driving a lancer... looks ok and powerful ley.. but of cos la, i never drive it so cannot confirm......
By the way, the 64K price tag u mentioned is auto sport or the normal auto???

manual if u are the power-hungry type, like to have some excitment sometimes, don't wanna pay extra for auto, etc
auto if u are the lazy type, know that you're not too comfortable controlling your car esp on slopes, etc.
I also heard that auto are more sellable dunno how true tho.

Anybody know why Mitsubishi is raising their prices week after week?
Im talking abt the lancer manual (basic model):
Mid Nov: $59,9xx
Late Nov: $60,9xx
Early Dec:$61,9xx
Now: $62,4xx
Bearing in mind, the COE from Mid Nov till now is only increase of 400plus dollars...
So, is it still a good deal??
Or is it becos the increase in price is a gimmick to cover the 1st yr insurance (up to 1K) and 2 free installments??

Was at the showroom 2 weeks ago.
Actually the prices on newspapers are marked down. The difference is the 3k cash rebates. Maybe now they decided to show the actual price, then make u happy wif the rebates once u r there.
