Dun want to drive a Modded car everytime drive need to look left,right,up,down worry got TP! Sianz. Can't enjoy. Anyway Car is already very fast already. Why want brush arms with the LAWS? here SPORE leh!!!
For myself i would be lookin to upgrade my Car with a SuperSprint Exhaust & a Turbo XS Utec ECU Upgrade with Boost Controller to unleash my Ride's Original HP/Torque! Wait for BONUS!
Current upgrades: Broquet Top-Fueller with 4x 8pcs In-Tank to lower the RON Petrol i pump from V-power to 98 & Maybe even RON 95.
BOV - For the nice Shssst!!!! sound...... Wicked!
Sixth Element Air Charger. Enhance Air intake.
High Pressure Walbro Fuel Pump.
All LTA COMPLAINT. No problems when see a TP.

Actually I started this topic because I drive a evo. I did not mod my car because I feel that it's already fast enough. But I hate it when ppl comment that my car will lose out to a "modded" civic. I think it's crap, let's talk only in Singapore. How can my evo lose out to a "modded" civic? Just wanna find opinion from ppl with already fast car and did not mod it.

if TC for SiR or Type R...shd not be a problem smoking a stock Evo...
body weight is much lighter for Civics...esp 3dr hatch... -

A.Evo has turbo, 4wd,the initial punch of torque is there, making u stick to the seat.As every gear change there is senificant "Pull"..but turbo is scare of heat,if u pull too hard,the heat too much, tink u know wat i wan to say la..
B.Civic,Vtec-was use in race in the old days...no need turbo, simple, wan fast, floor acc, cos of dun hv turbo, the heat generated is not tat much of the evo, somemore lighter, lik dun even hv 1ton..lol..therefore, the ration of power to weight MAY hv a bigger advantage.
If u got buy the taiwan OPTION mazagine,i got mine from chua chu kang, they got free disc inside packing, u can see there Civics, 0-100km/h lose EVO by bout 1sec, but there quarter mile, Civic timing is faster den EVO.....
But of cos not al their civic so power la, also hv those slower one ma.. lik i see there MIT LANCER..(No offence)IS IN TAIWAN THERE ) mod til i myself say, Bbz, power lea..so many DEFI meters,HKS oil sum cooler, JUN intercooler...den CB, 0-100km/h only 9.3sec...still tot got 8sec...but anyway, i tink is achivement liao la. -

well, in truth, most cases u wun lose, as Evo pickup is quite fast indeed, got Gs and all, without too much feeling of lag. STi feels a bit weak tho, and seems to be markedly slower.. mebe the 15 bhp diff really can be felt. Too bad ST Powered fastest Civic already sell off all the parts and another famous SiRII like out of action liao. But still got a spoon yellow EG6 out there for u to challenge, mebe u can go Pasir Gudang and try him. Also another white EG6 tat is beating Porsche GT3s and STis/Evos at Sepang.
Its precisely in Sg that u mite lose to a modded Civic.. Sg dun play top speed, which the Evo will prob win out (if all speed limiters removed). Sg usually is acceleration power.
And many civics are geared for acceleration with high final drives and short gears. Imagine a bored up, 2 or 2.2 litre VTEC engine with gobs of torque and sometimes up to 260-270 bhp (NA), and with 4.9 final drive, short gearing AND all this on a 1000 kg or less car! Stock and mildly modded Evos will be smoked!

The Evo or STi (stockish) will lead about 1 car due to better launch and torque, then when Civic hit 3rd will start to overtake and can win about 2-3 car lengths even. -
Seems like most of you are comparing Stock Evo and a Modded Civic in term of drag racing. How about a street race? Any comment on the handling? I admire Honda's vtec very much too, I'm just pissed that some ppl just think that a stock evo is lousy. -

Well, ppl like to compare cuz Civic (esp renewed COE) is so much cheaper than Evo, and also its non-turbo, so if can win, its more 'worth it' in tat sense.. but i bet if they could own a Evo, they wouldn't hesitate also...so its not like ppl hate Evo, just tat they cant afford it so best way is to mod their own car until faster than Evo, at least that's one way to "win".
Street racing is a menace and i tink most ppl dun support it. But juz for argument's sake, Civic mite will win if the traffic lite to next traffic lite is long enuff for it to finish its 3rd gear... but will prob lose on a highway, rolling challenge. -
Another aspect is handling. What is power without control?
