Why is not wearing seat belt against the law?

Hello everyone,
I'm just throwing up this notion for discussion...okay, here goes...my issue is seat-belts...see, if I don't wear my seat-belt whilst driving and get into an accident, and something really terrible happens, then it is entirely my fault and the pain is mine alone; I have to bear the consequences.
I've not hurt anyone else but me so why should the authorities "force" me to wear it? I should to free to decide on my own.
My other point is about child-seats and parents allowing their kids to run around inside the car and not ensuring they are securely belted in...who should be responsible if something bad happens? The parents, right? So, if the parents feel it is alright to allow that, why should the authorities step in and tell us what to do? The onus is on the parents.

Last I heard
If you go for overseas training with the army, and you are so suay to kenna HIV, you can be charged for damaging military property.

If you or your passengers don't wear a seatbelt and get into an accident, the impact could send either of you flying out of the car, into the path of oncoming vehicles. That innocent driver will then be involved if he can't stop in time and his car rolls over you. Or he may swerve to avoid you and crash into something else.
Nothing on the road is just about you and you alone. -

So your b|oody body won't get flung out of your car, and hit the car in front of you, thus preventing a chain of events.

And, if a parent thinks it is ok to make the child sit on the roof of the car, no one can stop the parent?

also, if u are badly smashed up, they still need to rush u to emergency ward, and take up precious time of other emergency cases.
wanna die go without hindering others' chances of survival ok?
P.S > actually i prefer no seat-beat myself dont feel tied down.

If it is done to my relative, I only scold the government stupid dumb dumb only. That's all.
Anyway, that is probably false. The only true thing I know is that you may be jailed if your sucide attempt fails. -

That's rubbish. I think the body of my dead friends were sent back right after the autopsy. What thrown into jail and rot? my ex-colleague's dad committed suicide. He told me that he (not sure if include other family members?) witnessed the caning/whipping (i forgot which).
just wanna get confirmation from those who actually know from personal experience, not those guessing/hearsay/etc. -

hmmm.. well.. in this world.. not only you exist.. there are many of us too.. it is a rather digusting sight to remove a body from a car.. but to get throw out of the window onto oncoming traffic is like... brain here, hands there, legs another place

yep. my mates friend died in a car accident. he went into a pole, which split the front half of the car, they found bits of him up to 80metres away.
recently, my housemate was driving us back from the supermarket. tyre blew out at 55kmh (its not very fast is it?) and we went into the railings on the side of the road. the whole front of his car (vw golf) got rammed into the dashboard. the car got scrapped. and we were waaay under the speed limit. if we hadnt had seatbelts on, he have serious neck injuries, and id have either been out the window, or have my face in it.
