Fake WRX or STI?

Is there alot of them?
actually i spotted quite a few leh... sum put WRX logo but havent change their pipe.. still TS pipe, maybe still under conversion..
my friend got his TS converted oso..looks and sound real.. but ended up price abt the same as a 2nd hand wrx... i ask him y not get a real 1.. he said real one insurance and roadtax can kill him..haha logical.. -
actually for all this "wannabes" or "fakes" , i wld just leave them alone ......... i mean sometimes the "sport" version of the car is very nice , so pple just want to replicate the same look ........... nothing wrong IMO ............

my friend actually told mi that WRX upgraded their pipes to look like STI leh..but the WRX scoop is lower.. STI is higher.. do STI have back wiper??

Real WRX/STI drivers take out their logo. I see fake WRA/STI drivers purposely put their fake logo "BIg BIg".
Even their rear Drum brake is also a fake stick-on aLuminium circular plate. Got holes somemore!

WRX's is so common, i see many with out badges and some fake STi's, i reckon that the only way to distinguish the STi and the normal ones is the rear wiper, the STi has and the norm WRX does not.
I have seen plenty on TS on the road which converts their TS to a WRX wannabe.
BUT i have seen STi and norm WRX's convert to look like NORMAL TS! hahaha i know of 1 in this small island and 2 accross the causeway which have done it, but i think its a total waste of Cash to channel Air to the intercooler instead of having a scoope on the bonnet, but anyways the owners are lover of sleepers so wad can i say? -

... have to change bonnet, headlight, taillight, do sum adjustment to the car body... heard frm him..but yet to see the real thing ..wonder does it look real

It's been my dream to get the WRX and convert it to TS.

not all STi has rear wipers. Only JDM STis from parallel importers has got rear wipers. Export spec STis sold by Motor Image doesn't have rear wipers. Spec C can be differentiated by the roof vent, but nowadays some rexes/stis has spent some cash cutting it. Best way to differentiate it is the manual window, spec c comes with manual windows and not power windows.

The TS's LSD has fins whilst the WRXs LSD's are smooth

nah... i'd rather change to a cone filter and a gd exhaust to let the signature boxer-beat rear show.. at least u'll sound like an sti..haha..

haha... was just abt to say no matter how u modify a TS or WRX, the experienced ear can still tell it from the real STI...

Spec C has a rood vent.
Spec C's have DCCD.
Spec Cs do not have rear wipers unlike the JDMs (light weight).
Spec C's have no side skirts or even a hint of bodykit.
Spec C's either run low gulwing spoilers or Original GT wing.
Spec C's have the quick steering sticker on rear windscreen.
Spec C's have thinner glass all round.
Spec C's do not have the auto boot "open" lever
Spec C's come with Optitron dash instrumentation meters
Spec C's come with 12 litre intercooler tank in rear boot
Spec C's has more postitive castor with longer wheelbase (visible to the naked eye when you see the front wheels more forward as compared with Motor Image Euro STis)
Spec C's come with FORGED BBS Rims or the standard STi rims
Spec C's has no climate control aircon, just the normal one
With the above,
Spec C limited comes with black seats with bold red stitched STI across
Spec C limited comes with matt black dash panels
Spec C limited comes with power windows and factory aircon which adds additional 20kg as compared to a original Type RA spec C -
JDM and Spec Cs will never have the boxer note as they are running equal length extractors.
