When to use the fog lights???

I wander why drivers like to turn on their fog lights when most of the Singapore road brightly lighted up at nite. Isn't the car headlights are bright enough esp those using HID?
There was an article in the Strait Times months ago that Traffic commander stated they will fine any driver who turn on the fog lights unnecessarily unless heavy down pour. -

Those with local fitted HID and those who tilted the lamp angle higher than needed are the ones causing "blindness" to the others -
i think drivers must strike a balance between using your fog lites instead of the normaL beam.
Is either Fog lites with light mode 1 or normal beam with out foggys at all ..
At least i drive with light mode 1 with fogs on ... on the NS express way i drive with all my lights off

fog lights is for drivers that is angry that their high beam and low beam is not bright enuf and want more light.....

maybe the driver feels that the fog lamp looks cooler than the original lamp.. so they on lor.

hmm.. ive been stopped by traffic police (road blocks) many times b4 and no problem for me.
my foglights were on.. anyway.. i don on my lights fully anyway, i twist the lever once only, instead of 2. -
hmm.. can drive anytime with your foglights on... but dont make it that bright that will just blind other drivers.. be considerate

Yeah, pitch black lor, you should be able to see the road ... just by the lights of other people car ... but its dangerous, only do that when playing with Wira or 'Tai Zi' ... but only do it alone and empty stretch of road nia .. otherwise i will not. but some M'sians damn zai one, they can do w/o lights for their whole trip ...Originally posted by Ethan-:huh???off ur lights even at nite??? -

he will lead the way and I will turn in accordance to the movement.... well u no need to be takumi to do that.... Just a few more night trips up and tat will be it.... -
some cars hav fog lights some dun.....i had observed tat the fog lights arent tat strong....for example the new civic Vti-s has fog lights but its not as strong as some buggers who always flashes high beam on their headlights.....yup hav seen some without their headlights on but oni uses the fog lights n it seems abit weird to me.....

I have seen some drivers just switch on the side and fog lights only. I guess the drivers just feel 'shiok' doing it without having any consideration and the dangers to other road users e.g. make the their presence less visible to other vehicles or creating false judgement.
