From Straits Times
I REFER to the report, 'Look up! It's a speed camera' (ST, Dec 30). I was disappointed to read Traffic Police Commander Teo Kian Teck's remark that the police would consider placing signs to warn motorists about bridge-based speed checks.
On expressways, motorists speed away once they have moved past a speed camera. And they know where these cameras are with all the warning signs.
Without warning signs, motorists have to be vigilant at all times to prevent being caught in the act. So I urge the authorities not to place warning signs.
After all, as Mr Teo pointed out, if the motorists have not been speeding, what are they afraid of?
