I also heard this thing about the price of Mazda 6 will drop drastically when the MPS is eventually launched. But I have different opinions, cos it's just like saying:
"the price of E-Classs will drop when S-Class is launched" or "the price of TS will drop when Sti was launched"
To me the present 6 and the MPS are different classes altogether (well, although Mazda lumped both of them under the same 6 family). C'mon, I don't think a 142 bhp car should be compared with a turbo-charged 256 bhp car in the same family.
There might be a price drop, but I think the effect is not big. Just my 2 cents.
Anyway, heard that the MPS will be launched this year. Some even say that Singapore will see it in March 05. But this article say that MPS will reach Europe only in Sept 2005:
