Mazda 6 security

I understand that the Mazda 6 comes with an engine immobiliser. Does this mean it is "safe" from car theft ?
Planning to drive the Mazda 6 to M'sia and worries that by the time I go back to the carpark the car is gone (with the wind!)
I asked the SE - what happen if I lost my keys and immobiliser. He said, Mazda technicians have their way to "start" the car. Does this mean theft can be easily done too la ... since any Mazda technicians also can mobilise the car if necessary.
Wonder why kind of "security" lock is installed for the luxury cars like BM and Merc. Actually, there are many BMs and Mercs were stolen in Msia too right.
What should we look out when we park our cars in Msia ? Sorry, I am not targeting Msia as a haven for car theft but in fact there are many cars were stolen and my Mazda is brand new and I can't imagine how that could feel when your car is stolen .... damn .... touch wood !! -
buy n bring yr own wheel clamp. clamp yr wheel so nobody can move it.
u can park illegally somemore and when the wheel clamp ppl come by, they think u kenna summoned already.

haha .. afraid it will "piss off" the potential thieve and thought something must be valuable in the car and mess with my car ... beside it is just a japanese car ... why overdo it ... it is peanuts comparing to BM and Merc but to me it is my precious !! -
They will be so pissed off they can't steal your car, so they'll vandalise it beyond recognition instead to show how pissed they feel.

But in M'sia they see you so kuku get your wheel clamped, and then a quick glimpse of the singapore registered plate, they feel like making a bigger kuku out of you.

Maybe u can consider taking out ur steering wheel whenever u park ur car...U can't expect the thieves to bring an additional steering wheel where ever they go right??

From what I know, (pretty little) the Toyota Unser, Toyota Harrier and the Mitsubishi Stormtrooper are the hottest targets for car thieves in Malaysia... Generally they don't often go for Mazdas...and some of them reportedly have towing trucks that can jack the 4 wheels off the ground and just drive off with it, wheel lock, engine immobilizer or not. But I'm not sure about the tow trucks bit.
Just try and park it in real crowded areas with high human traffic. Malls are not that wonderful. Alternatively if you have relatives, park your Mazda in their house and try to take out their Protons if they have one. This is what I always do.

Great, now i have to find a set of relatives with a proton when I make a trip to M'sia.

I'm just wondering how come people don't steal Proton parts as often as one'd think they would, considering there's a potentially huge black market for Proton parts, as basically everyone's driving a Proton. -

No la what I meant is this...since everyone is driving a proton..then there's got to be a bigger demand for proton parts right? So why aren't more people stealing protons? But then again, I guess they can always export stolen cars like that time when a whole bunch of harriers and RX300s were found in Singapore warehouses hmm.. -
if you go malaysia.. always park your car next to a curb, head first... then wheel lock your car... that sense they wont be able to pull the car out via tow truck.. and also the best thing is to have an alarm system... incase they cant steal your cars.. they will steal your rims....
