How often COE bid failed after 3 attempts?

Hi all,
I just wondering how was the frequency of failing COE bid after 3 attempts? Please give a show of hand whom has faced this problem?
After third failure, do you wait for the next bidding again or you requested the SE to return you back your deposits? What would happen to the car you had already booked?

think most of the car distributors ie. BM, TC, C&C, KM all have 6 biddings?

which distributor?
for BM, dun think u can cancel. BM will try up to 6 times as signed.
did the distributor offer u the open cat?
next bidding is next week... gv it another try.
mine is 3rd time lucky. -
within 1 or 2 bid the dealer will definitely secure the bid. on paper it is listed 3 bid non guarantee. you talk to 10 SE, 10 SE will say normally first 1 they "will" get the COE ... if not 2nd bid "sure" get the COE ... 3rd bid is really bad omen already. it is the LAST LAST resort that SE want to cancel the deal.

A year back i would say the possibility is there. Now, there's almost not enuf buyers to soak up the excess COE. Sure strike wan within 1 2 tries. Wun be surprise if COE drop below 10k.

i think there 2 options...1st option is go for the next bidding whereby the dealer might raise price..2nd option is buy from open cat, which might need u to top up a little more $$...

If COE going downwards or staying stable, you will almost likely get it in the first bid.
If COE going upwards real fast and stays there, then there is a good chance that all three attemps will fail since bidding high means car dealer earning less profit or taking a loss. And that is something they will not do. -

If that happen, yr car become the ready stock for new comer who got the COE and waiting for a car for immediate registration & dun mind the colour u chose. U get yr refund back without compensation for loss of interest if it were to sit in the bank. Then u r on yr car shopping again, buying at the price based on prevailing COE then. Vicky read your contract again carefully, there is alway a promise there to state how many bid they can try ! usually it is 3 to 4 bid ! once over that amount of try, the contract is void as they fail to secure the COE for you within the agreed number of tries ,thus you are not bound by it anymore. As for deposit, you are entitled to get it back as the SE is the one who fail in the getting the COE in the agreed number of tries. Read your contract again !
