nissan cefiro or volvo S40?

if u have $110k to spare, would u rather buy a
nissan cefiro 2.3l which probably cost around that price -- which is plush and comfortable, but a Jap model, with lousy FC (8-9km/l???)
or
volvo S40 2.4l -- which now cost $110k during its renovation promotion last weekend -- which is less plush, smaller in space, but a continental model and known for its durability and safety (?)! FC -- probably same as Nissan? -
Volvo.... S40 is powerful.... and enjoyable to drive.....
The Nissan seems to be very american and even the FUEL Comsumption.

i quite like the camry one generation before, the one now doesnt look as impressive. and my spouse and i hate the interior of all Toyota cars (no flaming pls! it's juz personal taste). another thing abt camry is -- too common liao. though cefiro is quite common too lah.

personally i would prefer Mazda RX8 -- low road tax and suitable for younger pple like us. but that would be in another class -- it is not so family-friendly, more for running and show-off. -

Rx-8 is nice, flashy and cool... good if you like to show off
my choice will be the volvo... much better than the ugly sounding cefiro.. you pronouce it in cantonese....terrible....
cars over 2000cc FC is around 8-9... if you want good FC then get below 2000cc.... -
If you want good FC, then go for honda city.

Probably related to the "Turbo" engine? Previously passat oni have 1.8T, that is at least 20k-30k more. Oni recently they introduce 2.0(no T) which is about Camry price.
I forgot to answer the main question. If oni between cefiro and S40, I'll choose S40 for its younger look. To me, cefiro profile like older chaps leh. Sorry if I offended anyone!

Well, i guess the choice between the two would depend alot on the age of the driver.
I personally find it very odd to see a young chap driving a big car like the cefiro, camry or for that matter, anything above a 3-series/C-Class.. I'd feel that he's probably driving his dad's car or something.
But again, the cefiro is better value for money lah, with such a big interior and a V6 engine all bundled in.. -

hehe. to each his own. Different tastes, different age group, different objective. As i said, Volvo is for the brand name (since at this price cant really get BMW/Audi/Merc, Volvo is a steal)... and Cefiro is for the comfort (super luxurious, interior better than Camry...).
