New Audi A4 vs. New 3 Series

Both Audi and BMW are coming out with their latest model of A4 and 3 series. Which car do you think look better?

i used to dislike the A6 new look. but the more i look at it, the nicer it looks... so i will go for A4.
i prefer the current BMW3 look. the new look not as sleek. -

Personally I prefer the design of the Audi too. I think the single front grill design is sort of a trend starter. You can see that BMW is trying to do something similar will theirs too but try not to make it too obvious.
As for the interior quality, I believe the audi cars will always be better. Furthermore, Audi are still being assembled in Germany while BMW are assembled in South Africa.
The only area which BMW will perform better than Audi is the engine performance and it resale value. -

Yeah, I have seen this in the top gear magazine. its the new rover and the design looks abit like a cross bred between bentley and audi. personally, I hate rover cars, used to own the 216 covertible and I think it is a piece of junk!Originally posted by HENG@:unfortunately, has anyone seen the new rover?

Geez - all three are ugly as sin.
Looks like a lot of the new designs are following Peugeot, with the monstrous grilles. The really frightening thing is that they're all starting to make Volvos look good. -

Hey guys, I think there are more to a car than just the cover. In term of engine and gearbox technology, BMW and Audi are a class above Saab, Volvo, Peugeut and Rovers. BMW involvement in F1 and Audi involvement in Le Mans have proof that they are the leader in car technology and if I have to choose a car, i will seriously take that into consideration.Originally posted by HENG@:Volvos. yummy. Actually the Volvos look pretty good now especially their SUVs

BMW's engineering is pretty good, although, like Merc, their participation in F1 doesn't mean much - if you went by that measure, you'd be considering a Honda before you considered a Bimmer.
Audi have a tendency to jump the gun and release technology before it's been satisfactorily worked out - remember the mess with their aluminium chassis? I had a number of friends who dumped their A4s at that time. -

Audi image has always been reliabilty and that is why they have invested so much money in the 24hr Le Mans race, which they won year after year.
Aluminium chassis is not exactly a technology, it is more about weight distribution. I think the only major problem about aluminiun is that it is difficult to repair if there is a knock, other than that I dont see anything problem with using this material. If I remember correctly, the new A6 and A8 are both made of aluminium body and they are both very popular in Singapore.
You might highlight which generation of A4s are you talking about. Are you refering to the 1.6L model 2 generation ago? -

Honda have been absent from the F1 scene for a long time and it is only about 3 to 4 years ago that they got involved again. Although they are the no.2 in the constructor last year, but I think that they will need another 2 to 3 years to catch up with BMW and Merc in engine design. In fact for japanese car, toyota is the only brand that can challenge BMW and Audi. -
