I heard from friends quite some time back that TP has passed a law for qualifying for a driving licence. the age limit kena pushed to 21. issit true? anyone can confirm?
paiseh, i saw one thread abt being caught w/o licence, but dun happen to see if got age limit lehz. dunno if still 18 or now changed to 21 already... -

Becos u will need to have a Pass in Basic Theory before you can apply for your PROVISIONAL Driving Licence(PDL), which is needed for you to learn how to drive ON THE ROAD...most of my friends actually took their BTT b4 enrolling school, so can save some $$$ (becos the course fee is higher if u enrol without a pass in BTT)..
But then, if you enrol school, don't need to so fast apply the PDL cos you will start learning in the circuit ( = no need PDL). Your instructor shd tell u when to apply.. -

You can apply for PDL at the Traffic Police Counter @ the Driving Centres..It costs $25 and is valid for 6 months from the date of issue. As far as the CENTRE state that you shd apply for PDL when u start to learn driving, it is most likely that you will be learning your 1st few lessons within the circuit. So, best is to ask the instructor too...
As for how to book the practical lessons, you should check with the driving school or Private Driving Instructor that you have engaged..Normally, school have quite a comprehensive online booking system.
I get what you are thinking...The PDL is not exactly a license for you to drive just like that...You can start to LEARN how to drive after BTT. The person sitting next to you must be a TP approved and registered Driving Instructor or School Instructor and you must put an "L" plate in front and behind the vehicle.. -

u need to go to any of the traffic police counter in the driving centers and show them the slip that is mailed to you stating that u have passed your BTT. Then u need to pay a fee, but sorry, i can't remember how much it was. One the spot, they will issue you with a PDL. If you are with pte instructor, by right, as long as you don't have a PDL, u are not supposed to drive. With sch, even before you take the BTT, you are allowed to drive and take your lessons within the circuits. -

Something i've been wondering too...U remember those unimogs u have in ur unit? Aren't they Class 4 vehicles?? But my CSO/Drivers all under 21 leh...
