Singapore drivers should learn to respect the signal light

Why is it that Singaporean drivers never like to give way even if you try to signal your intention?
Why is it that Singaporean driver never like to use their signal lights when switching lane, turning or even stopping by the roadside?
Personally, I think we should NEVER give way to those who like to switch lane without signaling. (My philosophy is if you are so lazy to even signal, why should I give way to you).
On the other hand, we should always give way or make space to those who signal their intention, especially during peak hour traffic.
I believe drivers here should try to create some space for each other and respect the signal light. This I believe will make driving less stressful. -
becos they were taught that signalling lights the bulbs very fast burn out one, and very expensive to replace also, so must save on signalling light usage.

How about using hand signals? In any way, hand signal no need to burn....furthermore, most drivers will let those using hand signal to cut lanes....i'm one of them...

Personally I feel that Malaysian drivers are better...
If you travel on the North South highway, you will understand why...
they respect the signals and they never road hog.
They know they are slower they will surely give way to you.
You signal right and let them know that you are overtaking, they will move left.
Singaporeans...
You signal that you want to change lane, he will step on it and go closer to the car infront so that you got no space to go in...
Turn right and go straight lane at red light junction, and you signal that you turning right. He still want to stop behind you but he going straight. Then cannot tahan the wait. Horn and high beam you.
Road hog on expressway and then kena high beam, not happy... jam brakes!!!

Singaporeans in Malaysia worse... that why they call us aliens from the south.
Road hog, people high beam still don't want to give way.
I think Singaporeans should learn their 'highway code' on the malaysian highway...

As usual, for people to obey certain rules, a fine has to be imposed. In this case, I suggest the authorities impose a $200 Fine for not signalling. Be it turning left or right, or stopped by the roadside.
I strongly recommend the Traffic Police implement a fine for anyone caught for not using the signal lights.
This is the only way. Believe me. Only money, gets peoples attention while no words can. -

if u give way to a car then he hog ur lane or keep on jammed brake or suddenly hazzrd light... who u will blame? so being nice doesnt really pay... so y gamble to give way?

1) It is not necessary to signal when there is no car behind
2) It is not necessary to signal if you can cut into his land and SPEED up immediately, without make him slow down for u
3) It is absolutely NECESSARY to signal, if you want to cut into other ppl and, and can't speed up,.

6) PLEASE fuking CHECK b4 you signal. I hate a certain gender of drivers, who always signal without checking. As a motocyclist, we cannot afford to take risk. Alot of time i'm going 80kmph, then suddenly the car beside suddenly signal to cut into my land, forcing me to brake. Unloke car, EBrake for motorcycle, is extremely dangerous.
7) Drive at the Fuking CENTRE of the lane, if not bike can't squeeze (And to those morons who gonna tell me not to squeeze in between cars, then bollock to u.)
This 8th points are for motorcyclist. If u hum ji, dont dare to squeeze fast, pls stay behind the cars. U are blocking the bikes behind you! Sometime i see Super4 squeezing through the cars at <60kmph in the expressway, really want to show them the finger. -
There are always black sheeps among the population in every countries. Well, Malaysians are likewise.... Some of them cut into lanes causing near accidents, while the others never signal their intentions. The most common is that they do not obey traffic lights.
As tourists, one tends to see the better of the behaviour within the boudaries of that country. The driving behaviour is just as bad in every country.
There is seriously no way to stop such behaviours.... even with fines systems intact people still mis behaved themselves on the road. A very good example, is Speeding. -
In this case, increase the FINE to $2000.00.

some cars dont come with signal light or some of the signal lights are at the back seat so hard to reach

it happen to me yesterday when i was abt to enter CTE....
i signal to go in to CTE and the flow was quite slow(brake-go,brake-go)...
when there was ample space to enter the CTE,one van driver who was
behind me but in the CTE suddenly speed up n dun let me in....
i got fed-up n try to cut him afew times but he was damn 'Hiong"....
in the end i sped up n cut the car in front of him...
later on,we exit to the PIE....i was still very angry n decided to wait for him...
when he saw me,he try to cut me but i keep blocking him...
when he change lane i also blocked him....
when i notice dat his going to exit at Kallang,i horn at him a few times...
den he signal out n follow me again....quite feirce man....
at this time he was behind me again,
i accelerate a bit den brake hard den accelerate...keep going...
i think he du lan den he on his high beam...but i still continue to brake-accelerate...
after playing enough,i decided to speed up n go....
when i was abt to exit,i slow down n see if his still behind....
when i was abt to exit,i saw him pass me den i horn at him a few times
again.....this time he signal to exit wif me.....
in the end,i speed up but din noe if he manage to exit....
i keep looking behind but din c him.... -

You never know who else might need to see your signal. If you change lanes without signaling, the car far behind you might not be affected but what about the car that is waiting to enter your road up ahead who is trying to predict your actions through your signal ? Or another car who wants to filter into the same lane as you ?
Unless we have brains and eyes that match the scanning/tracking capabilities of an F-16 fighter jet, we will never be able to know or track every road user who might potentially be relying on our signal.
The solution ? 100% signaling without exceptions. It'll soon become second nature to you ... -
