to begin with, the M5 lost control. and for it to have sliced thru the merc midsection, the merc must have been in front or alongside, so no i dun think it won.Originally posted by slient explorer:i guess M5 won?![]()

no the M5 went out of control, probably went sideways, and sliced thru the E55. the E55 didn't go out of control.Originally posted by bismarck:ok...so both out of ctrl

A BMW M5 was racing a Mercedes E55 AMG at very high speed. BMW lost control and slammed into the Mercedes with enough force to split the car in two.

ceecookie gonna buy u one.Originally posted by ditzy:No can do, don't have one to begin with.![]()
looks like the car absorbed a lot of the energy of the crash. It's the beemer driver im more worried about. That the whole car, including deformation zones, didn't deform too much in spite of the high energy generated by the crash, it seems that quite a bit of the energy would have been transferred to the driver.Originally posted by so_nice:the drivers arent dead? amazing damages to the e55
that may not be a good thing u know... see above post.Originally posted by perseus76:confirm M5 won the race.
Why ???Because the M5 is still in 1 piece.

Not really..... side is more softer than front.... BMW are using the front to hit which contains harden engine structure + safety zone +more length ... whereas the side is only a layer of protection and once its broken... the driver are in deep shiit.Originally posted by HENG@:looks like the car absorbed a lot of the energy of the crash. don't think im thinking too technical. i didn't say the M5 driver is dead, but i think he would have had quite a bit of a shock. dunno if u know but a rule of thumb is that often the worse an accident looks, the more energy is dissipated during the accident. anyway judging from the remains of the merc, i'd say the Beemer hit more towards the rear of the merc, which means the merc driver would have suddenly found himself spinning around, in half a car. can u imagine his expression!Originally posted by LittleTiger:Not really..... side is more softer than front.... I understand about the energy absorb... but one thing for sure if the BMW is with safety belt(which most ppl do unless in kampung) is 100% alive even though he might.... might sustain injuries from neck due to violent shaking...
Even the Merc was taking more absorbed energy, if it hit the deadly spot straight in to the driver.... he is a dead meat instanly. Accident in high speed like this..... the survival is more of a concern rather than injuries.
You think too technical and forgot the simple basic thing.
Unless its stated else it could be the Merc has slighly overtaken the M5 and skid(maybe due to braking(locking of brakes) or uneven surface, etc) to the center or front of M5 and makes the M5 hit its side.
