U belong to the highest risk grp. All insurers think tat drivers at such age drives like crazy regardless of "yrs of exp". W/o NCB, expect nothing less than 2k.
If u try yr luck, u may find someone willing to insure u at slightly less than 2k. Thou not much lower.

i was quoted $5500 a yr for insurance if wanted to buy the 2005 1.7 civic VTi-s which is pure madness, for that price I would be better off in a Rex, futhermore the SOHC engine isn't exactly fast, if i had gone for the integra it would even be higher. btw 25yrs old with 3yrs driving exp.

I bought a Honda City too 6 mths ago.
Age:26+ 2nd Car NCD: 10%
My insurance: $1300 from SHC Capital (a subsidiary of HSBC)
Anyway. if you are not really particular about the firm u are getting from, I suggest you could get those agents who can source quotes for you from different firms, that way u can compare the prices.
My first insurance I bought is AIG that costs me $2600. I now think it is not worth it. Do you really need such an expensive one? My take is that you only claim insurance when you are in a serious accident when the damage to your car or the other party is really really alot. If the damage costs me only $1000 or even $2000, i would rather pay out of own pocket. Because if you claim, your premium is gonna shoot sky high. So the only time you need to claim insurance is when your damage is damn jialat like maybe $5000+ and frankly how many times would you get into an accident that requires you to pay $5000? You would have to really get into a serious accident. Thus, just drive safely and I think even if got accident, the costs wun be too much. Like for me, I got into 2 minor accidents for the past 2 years, $120 and $300.
Thus, I feel I just get the cheapest one with comprehensive coverage and drive as safe as you can.

A recommendation will be put the insurance under one of your parents' name. This will reduce the amount of money you have to fork out.

its quite hard to calculate the ins premium.... lotsa things to look into.... Eg:Experience,No Claim Disc(NCD),Age,Buying new car,2nd hand car or coe car.. but for a new Honda City for ur age wif no NCD,i guess it shd be ard $2K..
