E320 and S280...Give opinions pls

  Hi
  
  My family are seriously contemplating E320 and S280 and I search this forum many times but only find little posting about this 2 cars.
  
  The E320 is about 30k cheaper than the S280.
  
  We still can't make up our mind,which is a more better car.
  
  Could some forumite give me your opinions

  S280 more class!! and more useless crap... like seat warmer... and sucktion at the doors...

  Actually not much point buying E320 rite... if u fancy the E-class might as well get an E200 or at most, an E240 and keep the balance...
  
  Whereas an S280 is a different class altogether...

  Definitely the s class, league of its own.

  E320 if ur after performance .
  
  S280 if ur after stature.
  
  Personally, I believe a S-Class should be at least a S350 onwards. The 280 is a tad underpowered.......suffers from the big body, small engine syndrome.

  My neighbour who stays at the corner unit semi D owns a s420, s350, and a z4, but he only parks the z4 in his front porch.

  The E320 is going to be replaced by the new E350 with new V6 engine that is more powerful and fuel efficient. May want to hold on a while for that.
  
  Personally, I prefer the E look over the S280 look. Younger and more trendy.

  All depends on exactly what you want it for. For comfort, definitely go for the S-class - it's better-apponted and has much more room. A tall driver could easily turn an E-class into a three seater.
  
  On the other hand, the 280 really does have an underpowered engine for a car of that weight.

  Personally... E class anytime.. not too into a small engine big body luxo-barge thingy..

  My family also feel the S280 is quite underpower for it size.
  
  i saw in the road before,there are S320,but i go check it up on car mag,but there is not a S320 series stated in there.
  
  Is there really a benz S320?

  the old 1 lor... the new facelifted model only has a S350...

  S350L is a 3.7l V6 engine only available in the long wheelbase version. As for the old S320, two version S320 and S320L, both of which are 3.2l V6.
  
  Differences between an S280 and S350L is about $40K+

  for performance wise go for the E320(the best E55 AMG),
  for luxury n status go for the S280 : )

  For me i will either go for E240 or S320. Actually why dont you consider the new A8? I think more and more tow kays are shifting away from the usual 7 and S to the A8. Good car, good value for money too.

  Do a test drive on the E320 & S280 and see which is more suitable. but when it comes to class and presence it will have to be the S280.
  
  Dun forget to factor in the increase road tax you pay for the E320.

  I think the difference in road tax can be easily be offset by the $30K difference between the 2 car prices.

  E320 is a better Buy...ok la S class is luxurious but the 280 is underpowered....will consume more fuel in the long run....and E-class is definitely easier 2 drive,park...who knows? If insurance is cheaper for the E-class I'd choose it...only downside is the road tax
