Decent power, good handling, spacious and nice interior, sporty outlook with kits. However FC is a little weak, about 11-12km/L. All that is for the Manual version. If you are thinking about Auto, forget about Lancer. The CVT is just too noisy.

Depends on you then, last time my friend tested the auto lancer, maybe because my friend rev a little. Then the engine was like screaming its head off. The SE said that the CVT was trying to adjust itself to my friend's driving way. But I guess it is not excuse. You can go and test-drive it, maybe you can stand that sound. But for me, I would get the lancer for it sporty look and feel. Auto, get a vios or City instead. These 2 auto cars are quite good around these price range. Vios for the power, City for its FC and steer-matic.

thanks alot btw... who is MIKE? ... I will consider the manual again le .... but like auto because not so troublesome hav to keep changing gears.... I just heard from a fren today that the new evo 9 is coming out in mar? then when will the evo 9 version lancer come out?

Me also looking at lancer, currently saving to get that ultimate wifeeeeee
Last time also struggle auto, manual, auto, manual, auto, manual.....
Now i want manual...!!!! can make car look sporty (i dun like the idea of auto car that look sporty, like very fake) and change gear got the feeling...
Anyway, up to individual.... the choice is yours...
Anyother reason is i scare the auto gear box, i oso duno why i got this auto gear box break down phobia....
Next reason, lancer manual cheaper $57000 , plan to down 15%, loan 10 years, i base on interest at 2.45 %, so one month pay $ 503.00 then add parking i think ard $ 70 (mine open carpark) and fuel i target average about $ 200.00, so one month on car will be $ 800.00 buck. Got money then slowly add new things but tot of getting the spoiler and oz rim from new purchase (dunno can or not
).
For me buying a car, monthly instalment important cos i dun wan to buy a car then every month no money to eat or go out just becos i got a car.

hi CARDREAMER, u calculated 800 but u forgot abt road tax and insurance which after u divide by 12 u need to pay additional 200 bucks. So total is 1k without other maintenance or xtras. Btw dont get a 10years loan, or else u gotta top up when u decide to sell your car. If possible down more and take a 7 yrs loan. Thats the path I took.

GLX 1 just mean that it is manual car, CVT 1 being auto.
SE, meaning sport edition, it is only a cosmetic upgrade.
Good quality leather, dashboard, spoiler, OZ rims.

sport edition is nice. bit different on the look. prefer auto, cos easy to drive. not ma fan at all.

Hi folks,
After a long search, wait, decisions between decisions, I've finally booked a Lancer (M) Sports Edition! Delivery should be early March, or so the SE says.
Booked it in Jan when COE was about $18k +. Costs $62.5k. Funny thing is, latest COE is also about $18k +, but the price of the exact same model dropped to just below $60k! So I "lost" about $2k, $3k on savings. *pengz* Guess buying a car is pretty much like playing the stock market or punting football.
As for freebies, managed to get free Rike Cool film. Costs about $800+ in the market, or so I was told. Can't think of anything more to squeeze the SE, becos its the Sports version and comes with pretty much everything.
Got the Manual version becos the auto CVT doesn't cut it for me. Smooth quiet ride yes if you're light-footed and all, but it doesn't feel anything like driving a car at all. Manual, although a bit more troublesome esp. in city driving like SG, gives more power and control. That's just me opinion of course, as I'm sure other auto CVT drivers have their own valid reasons for sticking to auto. Test out BOTH to see what works for you.
I intend to hit the NS highway once in awhile after the initial run-in period.

whats the other difference between normal saloon and SE edition except for the leather seats, 15" rims?
i also just booked mine, auto with upgrade to leather seats package for 60K.. still trying to figure out the difference between SE and normal.
for me, i had to get auto coz my wife will be driving the car and she's hopeless with manual.. -
AFAIK, the difference is basically aesthetics. They are:
- leather seats
oz rims
fog lights
rear spolier
body kit
black interior (or something like tat)
why don't you check wif your SE? -
Yes, that is what you are told. But I bet they can get it at a MUCH MUCH lower price. My friend's friend is a SE, he manage to get a deal for us, Kelisa drivers. Maybe a lot lesser window area, standard package cost way lower than 800 (price I am not supposed to disclose over the net). But true that most things already in, with the solar film the car is completed. NS highway is a good idea, but do read the manual for advice. SE and normal's differences are only the outlooks. Heard leather is of better grade to, than the upgrade one. And especially the OZ rims, car lovers are nuts about this 1. Getting a autocar because of wife is a norm now. Guess there is no way out, but I am sure both of you will like that ride. May you have your ride soon. -
so no one can tell me when the Evo 9 model lancer is coming out? i will be looking at the manual car lah.... since after replies i get seems to be the better choice thanks for that info every one here... Evo 9 model ... when u coming ? cant wait le... i think i will opt for the sports edition but i dun wan the spoiler can anot? can i negotiate cheaper than? or can sell outside at a better price?
