funny how come all the pple i ask oso like to park in a lot betwn 2 cars ah? i'm terrified of hitting the cars so i wud rather use empty lots instead. my problem is...how to position the car and steer into that particular lot? i was told to use my side mirrors but like you oso can't seem to see the parking line too.Originally posted by speedygonzales:i like to park in a lot inbetween 2 cars..... then i use the the front of the cars as the poles...... easier to park dat way..... if parking in an empty stretch of lots, i will nid a few attempts to get into the lot i wan.... cun see the parking lot line from my side mirrors leh..... i guess practise makes perfect..... jia you!
you can't be serious about the toy car??Originally posted by storywolf:Go to a big empty park lots and practise. Learn to use mirror to see parking lot lines on the ground and learn the turning of your car.
No one can tell you how, it is just you have to learn to see things with mirrors and master the turning of your car.
If still cannot get a toy car that have turnable front wheel and play with it and learn the parking techniques.
wat's this stick-on round convex mirrors? how are they suppose to help in the parking?Originally posted by choco B:Cheat alittle
I find that the stick-on round, convex mirrors for your sides, and the snap-on XL size rear view mirror, are a great help to new drivers.
hey, i used those mirrors too! great for blind spots.... parking wise, it helps me to check more angles.....Originally posted by choco B:Cheat alittle

basket, you better not be the one who scratched my car while parking hor.Originally posted by Newdriver:I have this BIG problem parking. Just passed my driving last month and still can't seem to park well! Can anyone tell me the surest technique to manuvoure the car nicely into the lot? How much to position the car to be able to steer nicely into the particular lot that you want to park in? In driving school, we rely on poles to find the right spot to steer the car so I was able to park nicely but once outside school.....how??
Pls don't tell me to bring my own poles.
Instead of parking between 2 cars, can park beside 1. So you only need to check 1 side. Usually for back parking, aims into the slot first. When your car almost reach the slot, turn out and when done nicely, your butt should be pointing toward the parking slot. Remember, easiler to park your car like that, than aligning it perpendicular to the parking slot.Originally posted by Newdriver:funny how come all the pple i ask oso like to park in a lot betwn 2 cars ah? i'm terrified of hitting the cars so i wud rather use empty lots instead. my problem is...how to position the car and steer into that particular lot? i was told to use my side mirrors but like you oso can't seem to see the parking line too.![]()
So what the different between 2 empty lot and 2 lot with cars in between ? They are still the same space with cars or empty ! If you have to park you have to park, where got chose with car or without !!!Originally posted by Newdriver:funny how come all the pple i ask oso like to park in a lot betwn 2 cars ah? i'm terrified of hitting the cars so i wud rather use empty lots instead. my problem is...how to position the car and steer into that particular lot? i was told to use my side mirrors but like you oso can't seem to see the parking line too.![]()

wah u talk as if u are driving a ferrari or porsche! depends on where you stay lor. if u are staying around sengkang/hougang areas, then it's probably me!Originally posted by ronnie_2600:basket, you better not be the one who scratched my car while parking hor.
Go get yourself 2 convex mirrors and place on the side mirrors. practicse until you can park properly before u try the real thing.
yo brother, big difference betwn 2 empty lots and 2 lots with cars okay. empty lots meaning u can park without scratching the cars beside you. i'm a responsible new driver. the thought of accidentally scratch other pple's cars really bothers me.Originally posted by storywolf:So what the different between 2 empty lot and 2 lot with cars in between ? car mirror can be adjusted, or you can move forward a little or backward a little to see !!! Cannot see then move till you can see !!! Once can see mean can slow park right !
now u are the only one who can really explain well. thks. my problem is i tend to steer in the opposite direction each time i tried to reverse into the lot! i heard it's a common problem for new drivers? initially i tried aligning it perpendicular to the slot but made a mess of it when reversing. tried yr method and it works. guess i need to practise more on the steering part. funny though, driving on the road is no problem at all. it's tis damn parking that is bothersome.Originally posted by wbucket:Instead of parking between 2 cars, can park beside 1. Practice and note the position of your rear window with respect to the parked car. So if you park too close or too far, the next time you can change your alignment.
I am a new driver too. Glad to help. Do be alert and always check blind spot. We are always taught about the blind spot, but never really realise its importance. Only until I experience a whole damn 2000cc car hiding in mine that I understand the logic.Originally posted by Newdriver:now u are the only one who can really explain well. thks. my problem is i tend to steer in the opposite direction each time i tried to reverse into the lot! i heard it's a common problem for new drivers? initially i tried aligning it perpendicular to the slot but made a mess of it when reversing. tried yr method and it works. guess i need to practise more on the steering part. funny though, driving on the road is no problem at all. it's tis damn parking that is bothersome.
Hi, even as a driver with 15 yrs experience, I still find those mirrors that clamp on to the side mirrors useful..you know those oval or rectangular ones that are fixed to the top of the side mirror. Can adjust angle down until you see the rear wheels and the road.Originally posted by Newdriver:wah u talk as if u are driving a ferrari or porsche! depends on where you stay lor. if u are staying around sengkang/hougang areas, then it's probably me!
ok, ok. i will go get the convex mirrors n stick them on the side mirrors. really hope they help though.
