Honda Intregra GSR or Toyota Celica SS1?

Yea, basically thinking of getting either one.
Can't get a Type R, cos too ex. Restricting to a car that's less than $100k.
Not looking for performance, but mainly looking for a good 2-door coupe car for travelling ard. -
Lots of ppl dislike the "Sillycar"... SS1 is quite weak... if not getting SS2 or TRD-M, think get the Integra better.
Either way, u can later dump in one of the "big brother" engines inside.... But I tink getting a Teg and dumping a K20a inside is better. The DC5 is supposed to be more powerful than the SS2 and TRD-M, so theoretically a Teg GSR wif a DC5 heart will also be more powerful.
edit : ok, not performance ah.. then prob the SS1 look more sporty then the Teg... but as I said, Sillycar is quite "despised" among many performance car owners... so if u juz want something nice to 'flaunt', it's no use if ppl dun give 2 hoots abt it... mebe can get some chicks tho... keke -
def a gsr!!!!! tegs are beauties to drive, and compared to the celica, have a much better interior. also, its easy to modify and a CAI will increase your bhp by at least 15. then you look at the header and intake system, plus mugen ss spring, and you are ready to rock and roll!!!

Not taking price factor into consideration, the standing are as follows (Stock):-
1) Honda Integra Type R - 2000cc , 220bhp
2) Toyota Celica SS2 - 1800cc, 180bhp
3) Honda Integra GSR - 2000cc, 160bhp
4) Toyota Celica SS1 - 1800cc, 145bhp
Believe price is in order too............ Celica will have cheaper road tax by ard $300 a yr i believe, and have more after market body kit then the GSR. Of cos, performance wise Type R is still the king among the 4 but believe the price diff between the Type R and SS2 is more than 10k.
Insurance wise, the top three belong to the PERFORMANCE CAR category and the SS1 is under coupe, so definitely cheaper, which you might want to consider.
Hope this information helps. Lastly, head that the new model of Celica will be out later this year. -

And dun think u get a mitsu or toyota, u will have a higher resale value. Everything is relative. If u pay a tuscani price, u get a tuscani resale value. =) -

I was at the Honda showroom last sunday, and they're selling the GSR at $85k.
Celica cheaper than that meh? Tot it's about $90k+?
Then, I had wanted to get the GSR under my sister's name, cos she's older and more driving exp than me. Although her NCD is 0%, the insurance for the GSR is still $2500/yr.
AND, this is the same for the Huyndai Tuscani, which I guess it's not a performance car. I confirm all these info are for real.
Now I'm really confused. Is the celica (for SS1) under perfromance or under coupe category? -

The integra and tus are both classified as coupe.. that is why the same insurance price....

These 3 are under high performance coupe.
1)Integra Type R/DC5
2)Tuscani V6/GT
3)Celica SS2 -
I drive a Celica SS2, it is 190bhp, I'll confirm a few thing s for you guys.
1. For SS2 if you want performance, you need to get manual, other wise a manual corolla is faster than an auto ss2..
2. DC5R is FASTER than Celica definitely. 225bhp vs 190bhp. + the integra also comes with an LSD, good for launching and hard cornering.
3. However remember that the new DC5 out now, the new shape looks like a 2 door civic, not v sporty look, I like celica better.
4. Celica has bad blind spot
5. Celica SS1 is very economical and fun to drive, but you'll derive more pleasure from the handling than anything. the Engine is basically a corolla engine.
6. Hyundai is a piece of SHITE...cmon v6??? and still so slow.. I've beaten so many of them its not funny, they are a high 15 to mid 16 car(I've been to drag strips), whereas Celica SS2s are high 14 to mid 15, and DC5s are mid 14- high 14 cars.
7. Regarding GSR and Celica, well it really depends. I play golf and its really hassle to fit my golf bag into my celica, I think GSR is more spacious cos its more bubbly
. If you like looks, then its the "silly car" for you.
