Wondering anyone can advise and give recommendations on how can i own a car for 2 to 3 years... be it rent... second hand or brand new...
my budget is very low... so hey help me ... recommend me the cheapest alternative ya... thanks/ -
was reading the newspaper today.... saw this 93 mitsubishi, according to them, they require only $150/mth for installment with Zero downpayment. Can try it if you dare....
What do you mean when you say you can only afford little for it?
Suppose:
Installment = $150
Petrol = $200
Parking + Misc = $100
Road tax, Insurance per month = $150
Maintenance for 2nd-hand car = $50
This will probably wor-ked out to be:
$650/month minimum.

Your info too vague liao... your 2-3yrs is like what? used everyday? then per day usage leh? is it just a 1 trip to and 1 trip back from wor-kplace, with occaional trips to else where on weekdays those types?

Get those cars 7 - 8 years of age, then you scrap of after 2 to 3 years. If budget still too low, then 17 - 18 years of age.
Car sharing don't work as you need a car to drive to work
OPC don't work unless you leave your house before 7am and leave your office after 7pm.
I am not too sure about long term rental, but weigh in these factors to compare with rental rates, you should probably be able to see which is cheaper. owning or renting
Road Tax - usually dun have to pay for rental
Insurance - usually not included in rental rates, you should have an option to buy or not. check the excess
Maintenance - Check with the rental company or person on this. If nothing is damage, you should not need to pay anything.
Other factors like parking, petrol and instalments / rental rates is your cost for both rental and owning.

You say you need it for studying, or for driving to camp, I think take public transport better... I'm also currently studying.... everyday take MRT from Bedok to Buona Vista... I wouldn't mind a car too... but it's just too ex for a student in SG, unless your parents have enough to sponsor you...
Road tax and insurance if I'm not wrong, is either half yearly or annually... so you still have to save for it... really not worth it...
Stick to public for the time being... Have to go to camp? Can use the NS ez-link, got package, $45 for 4 MRT rides a day... $42 for free bus rides, $97 total for both...
$450 is just too little... maybe motorbike can... not car though... -

I think better not buy. DUn be rash lor. $450 is about enough for petrol and parking.
Can u see yourself driving an old car? Even then, repair will be $450 per mth..
THink u stick to studying and think about buying when u grad. -

Don't be so gian to get car just because you got license and want to show off to others... Going to school only... not as if working liao, or doing sales, have to run here and there... or have to impress clients...
Save your money... next time can get better car... MRT and bus much cheaper... Not as if you're like me, everyday take MRT from Bedok to Buona Vista right? I last time NS, is take MRT from Bedok to Choa Chu Kang... you think I don't want to get a car? monthly $550+... can get lah... but can only eat cookhouse food... cannot go out...
You're better off getting a new iPod or Xbox or something...
In SG, car is really expensive... nearly 150% of what it's really worth... Student nia... no one will fault you for taking public transport... -
