I am driving the VTEC version and of cos mine FC is not as good as yours, but the last time my FC drop from 14/L to 12/L was because I was carrying alot of things in my car and also my tire pressure was damn low.....Originally posted by wuming78:i am driving a relatively new (about 6 mths) honda city i-dsi
my car has been able to go 17+ km / litre. however there were 2 instances when the fuel efficiency fell to 15+ km / litre. (i remembered very clearly there were only 2 instances). one of them was only this sunday.
for those 2 instances, i was using the same type and grade of petrol, and i did not change my driving habits and locations drastically.
what could have led to the fall in the fuel efficiency, and why the fall to 15+ instead of a more moderate 16+?
thanks!
ur tire pressure went down and maybe u are slightly more heavy footed than before.Originally posted by wuming78:i am driving a relatively new (about 6 mths) honda city i-dsi

i check every 2-3 tanks of petrol. thats about every 1.5 weeks.Originally posted by wuming78:hm.. wat is the so-called norm before one needs to check on tyre pressure?
How you managed to do it?Originally posted by wuming78:i am driving a relatively new (about 6 mths) honda city i-dsi

wah.. never expected this thread to be revived. u mean u r driving a new honda city idsi too?Originally posted by ewoodrovers:How you managed to do it?![]()
Mine ride is about two months...best reading 13.5.... have been averaging 12.
ya.... i think the FC sucks...considered that 17km has been HIGHLIGHTED by the SEs..Originally posted by wuming78:wah.. never expected this thread to be revived. u mean u r driving a new honda city idsi too?
but i have been able to achieve 16-17.Originally posted by ewoodrovers:ya.... i think the FC sucks...considered that 17km has been HIGHLIGHTED by the SEs..
what's that?Originally posted by RooP:yah..driving habits matters..or did you "open" your tiptronic very often?..![]()
Does "opening" of tiptronic matters at all?Originally posted by RooP:yah..driving habits matters..or did you "open" your tiptronic very often?..![]()
Could be the different between manual and auto car. Since "wuming78" doesn't know it, means he might be driving a manual car. Basically Auto car's FC is weaker than manual car, further more if you activate the "tiptronic"...... isn't it "steer-matic"?? Anyway, if you rev with an auto car, the FC will suffer much more.Originally posted by free4ever:Does "opening" of tiptronic matters at all?
By the way, i guess what is referred to as the 'opening' of the tiptronic is the to uses the button to select the gears.
Just that I can't see how it affects fc? Please enlighten.
i seriously have no idea what a tiptronic is, but i am driving the auto version of honda city.Originally posted by wbucket:Could be the different between manual and auto car. Tiptronic is a type of semi-automatic transmission developed by Porsche, which allows the driver to bypass the automatic mode by moving the lever into a second shift gate or gear. This is the same as downshifting to increase the braking effect of the engine or for more performance (for manual transmission vehicles).Originally posted by wuming78:i seriously have no idea what a tiptronic is, but i am driving the auto version of honda city.![]()
hm.. still dont quite understand.Originally posted by parryhotter:Tiptronic is a type of semi-automatic transmission developed by Porsche, which allows the driver to bypass the automatic mode by moving the lever into a second shift gate or gear. By the way, your mileage impresses me. You must be really easy on your accelerator
Well, I am sorry I don't know how to explain it any further. But think of it as if you are driving a manual transmissions car; when you are driving on expressway on 5th, you want to overtake a vehicle infront of you, so you'd shift one lever down (4th) for more power. This process is similar of to the Tiptronic.Originally posted by wuming78:hm.. still dont quite understand.
anyway, yes, i dont rev normally. instead i choose to pick up speed gradually (or make use of slopes). normally drive 100+ on the expressway, which i spend most of my driving time on - i rarely drive in the city area. and in addition, due to my working habits and hours, i rarely need to drive when the sun is up, and that means i seldom need to hit the aircon.i guess that's how i achieve my fc. when i first got my car, it was even better - 17+ constantly, sometimes venturing close to 18! but now, its more of 16+.
Isn't Honda's control at the steering wheel? Usually you see it close beside the gear shift for auto cars, but I believe this City's is at the steering wheel. Or am I wrong?Originally posted by wuming78:hm.. still dont quite understand.
steady bor....so hot you can tahan huh...check with other Idsi bros liao. Their FC also about the same as me ..... just have to live with it and enjoy the car lorOriginally posted by wbucket:Isn't Honda's control at the steering wheel? Offing air-con can result in about 1-2km/h FC improvement, interested party might want to test it out!!!
