i will take a new car, cos new car is alway better!Originally posted by ttw79:I am currently driving a yr 2000 Honda Civic SIR and currently getting some itch to either change to a new car (around the same price range since the new cars now are cheaper than a few years ago) or to upgrade the audio system, get bigger rims, etc.
Wondering what suggestions would you give and why.
Manual SiR? Keep the car.. the B16A4 is realy good. For a 1.6l, it's got a lot of punch. Hell, it's even got enough punch for a 1.8 or 2lit. Forget that i-Vtec stuff.Originally posted by ttw79:I am currently driving a yr 2000 Honda Civic SIR and currently getting some itch to either change to a new car (around the same price range since the new cars now are cheaper than a few years ago) or to upgrade the audio system, get bigger rims, etc.

As opposed to an old change? heh heh...Originally posted by Praetorian111:Time for a new change.....
SIR is good. but since he own a SIR and still consider to change, i tin he won't be downgrading. and will choose something close to SIR in term of specs. so y not a good new car?Originally posted by Danisdead101times:why change? SIR not good?
oh...no wonder you thinking of changing a new car...Originally posted by ttw79:First of all, I really like to thank everyone for your suggestions. =) First time in this forum and am surprised to get so many replies already in one day.
Actually, my SIR is auto. Quite a number of my friends were like "why auto?". Because my dad was not comfortable with me driving something too powerful and therefore prefer that I drive the auto version. Besides, getting stuck in Singapore notorious jams is not fun with a manual car.
Frankly speaking, I am wondering what type of vehicle has specs that is close to the Honda SIR? Any suggestions?
haha.. cannot blame ur friends. personally, i tin tat is a waste to drive an auto SIR. jus like driving an auto evo. haha.. no offend.Originally posted by ttw79:First of all, I really like to thank everyone for your suggestions. =) First time in this forum and am surprised to get so many replies already in one day.

It is a good time to sell the car away.... now it is still able to get a good price... and the best thing is that most car now are getting cheaper.... SIR is sold at over 100K in the past.... the value is still there.... if have money why not??Originally posted by Bloop...:As opposed to an old change? heh heh...![]()
Currently no 1.6L has that power.... if you want something around this range it has to be a 1.8L or 2.0L car... lancer sports, WRX are very reliable cars...Originally posted by ttw79:First of all, I really like to thank everyone for your suggestions. =) First time in this forum and am surprised to get so many replies already in one day.

only have manual? u don like manual? i tell u, u buy this kind of sport car, if not manual, is quite funny and wasted. think bout it.Originally posted by ttw79:Wow! Thank you for all your input. Really appreciate your opinions. Didn't know that the SIR is that powerful. Kind of took it for granted.
Been having this dilema about whether to change or not mainly because the price of car is low and my Honda is going to depreciate faster once it hits beyond 5 years.
As for budget, should be able to afford to change to a $80-90k+ vehicle because the current car still has some value. Did see some postings about the Honda Euro-R but think it should be very expensive and only has manual version. And as for Integra, think there are many versions around. Quite confused over the various types (R? S?). Then recently read that Honda should be coming out with a new Honda Civic in 2005 or 2006. So many factors... *confused*![]()
Juz follow your heart. If u drive like a maniac, go for manual... it'll make things better.Originally posted by ttw79:Wow! Thank you for all your input. Really appreciate your opinions. Didn't know that the SIR is that powerful. Kind of took it for granted.
