also remember tat.. on the road, u r so outstanding with ur OPC red plate. sure attract attention one.. u save money by choosing a OPC, and yet, did;t follow the time. if let ppl find out, most likely will go and report u one..
btw, i don own a OPC car.

Do we need to display (as in put on the dashboard or stick somewhere on the windscreen the coupon) or we need to just pre-tear the day and show it to rov when he stops you?

i guess is every petrol car or traffic police see ur car then they key in ur car plate to a system then double check whether u did buy a coupon on that particular day anot...

Coupon is tear one right, to my understanding, just like parking coupon. You have to tear the date off before you start to drive and if any tp / rov stop you, you have to show that you have teared the correct date. I am sure you dont want to buy one just before you drive, troublesome right, and also not to buy in a few days in advance, just in case change of plan -

You not only need to tear the coupon first before you drive off and you still need to write down your vehicle number on the coupon too. So, this make the coupon not transferable at all and you cannot share it with other even you only need to use your car for half a day only.
On the coupon, its state that it is a SERIOUS OFFENCE to use a invalid or tampered licence, the offence of tampering with the licence carries an IMPRISONMENT SENTENCE.
Cheating the coupon is a very serious offence, can end you up in jail. Some people only kanna fine and have their licence Gan tong for causing death to others when they drinks and drive. So image how serious it is for not displaying the coupon especially if you try to tamper with it. So better drive with a valid coupon if you want to drive during the restricted time. -

Is it worth converting to off peak cars? Gathered from sources that rebate ($17k) may not be refunded in cash. Also, your loan may also be revised downwards since price of cars has come down.

Driving without coupon and with tampered coupon is different story lah...
if without coupon, the offence is not so serious... -
Ermmm best is to tear the coupon ... OPC coupons is so different from normal cars parking coupons ... if you choose to drive an OPC car ... then face the time restricted ...
I dont tear parking coupons where ever i go
