Recommended to use full cotton towelOriginally posted by calfskin:Hi folks,
Just collected my new Lancer last week. Couldn't be any happier.
One problem I experience after washing the car is that it's difficult to totally get rid of all the water on the exterior, as leaving it partially dry will leave unsightly watermarks.
I've tried using Mr Clean synthetic chamois cloth, and found the experience horrible. Don't ever use it to dry your car. Does not absorb water at all, and leaves a trail of yellow lint all over the car. You can spend an hour wiping it and the condition is the same as if you've just started. Stay away from it. Then again @ $2.80, I should have known better.
Saw a brand named Turtle Wax special super absorbent cloth that comes in a nice tub, but it costs around $15! A bit pricey i think, but if it gets the job done in half the time, it might be worth it.
Any other methods/cloths that work?
Any advice is appreciated. thanks in advance!
use a real chamois cloth. those last forever, cuts drying time and doesn't leave streaks on the car after drying.Originally posted by calfskin:Hi folks,

Aiyah....the Turtle Wax Chamois is good. $15 is a steal. Can buy car, but not willing to spend of accessories to upkeep it. ???? Duh.....
Thanks for tip on sarong. I believe you have personally used it on your ride and you are speaking from experience, as most forummers here i believe offer genuine opinions and practical tips. You're very helpful indeed. Also, didn't realise till now that patterns and designs on a piece of cloth are actual considerations before purchase for some car owners. I'm glad I learned something today.Originally posted by VW King:Or you can try using the "Indian" sarong cloth. aahhaahha.....should be quite absorbing.... Cheap and Good. Got patterns also.
Got a friend who doesn't think twice about blowing over $300 for a shirt, while another friend wouldn't pay a cent more than $30. What gives? Pricey or not is relative, and its all about perceived value isn't it?Originally posted by VW King:Aiyah....the Turtle Wax Chamois is good. $15 is a steal. R u sure it's $2.80. Synthetic chamois usually cost at least 15 bucks. Mr Clean is probably pulling a fast one on u.Originally posted by calfskin:Hi folks,

I'm quite sure it's some fake sh*t, even though the package is labelled "Synthetic Chamois". That piece is utterly hopeless. Downgraded it to washing my rims now. Bottomline is, stay away from Mr Clean.Originally posted by Wheels on Fire:R u sure it's $2.80. Synthetic chamois usually cost at least 15 bucks. Mr Clean is probably pulling a fast one on u.
Try using ooling tea and paste a tissue over it, leave for a while. This was taught in a japanese cable tv programme on car's maintenace tips. Seemed to work. No harm giving a try.Originally posted by calfskin:I've removed the other 3 less problematic ones. However, it still leaves a stain mark on the surface. Any advice on how to get rid of the stains?
Any useful tips to share will be thoroughly appreciated.
terry cloth good for finishing and removing oils/wax which smudge the surface of ur paintwork. anyone trying to dry a car with it would be trying to climb bukit timah hill wearing roller skates......Originally posted by ed2004:no no to chamois!!!
