like this means almost stalll????Originally posted by calfskin:there were on more than one instance, where I stop at traffic lights for example, that the idle rpm drops to the 500-600 rpm region for a split second or so. So much so that it feels that my car shakes a little and feel like "Si Chia". After that, rpm will resume to normal.
I'm driving a manual (not auto), and i usually free the gear and not stepping on clutch, brake or accelerator when i stop at traffic lights.
I don't think the the "dangerously" low rpm is normal. What could be the possible causes, and its resulting consequences?
Any car experts willing to share with me? Very worried now that it could be something major.![]()

I just got a new Mit Lancer 1.6 MT. Less than a month old, and just did the 1k servicing.Originally posted by LittleTiger:What is your ride?
Ermm....not the the idle RPM swings up and down wildly, just tat once in awhile, it drops to about 300 rpm and car wobbles for a spilt second or so and then idle rpm resumes to normal.Originally posted by Praetorian111:Is the RPM fluctuation only after your 1K?? What did you change during your 1K servicing?? Did you smell anything or hear any sound since you stated that there was a loss of power.
should not be a problem, as stated by others it might be caused by the air conditioning itself. However, if you are worry you can always ask the servicing center to look into this.Originally posted by calfskin:Ermm....not the the idle RPM swings up and down wildly, just tat once in awhile, it drops to about 300 rpm and car wobbles for a spilt second or so and then idle rpm resumes to normal.
I experienced it before and after the 1k servicing, so I don't think its the servicing problem. For 1k servicing, only my engine oil and filter is changed. the rest of the stuff are just checks and inspects.
I didn't smell or hear anything unusual.
Is my experience 'normal'?![]()
