Summon for parking

hey just now, just went to toilet at habourfront den gotta summon for 30 knn.. I just went for like 15 mins lidat only..
is there anyway to min or to waive the fine? -

the summon time is around 12:32pm.. while I park at around 12:25.. went to toilet and came back at 12:45pm lidat -
ermm...issit parking without valid coupon? can try to appeal at URA at beside maxwell market, tell them that u just when to deliver a letter or can even say u're very very urgent, cannot tahan... and most important say that u took only 5 to 8 mins the most, chances are they will give a warning for first time offender. worked for me once, but if zic zac line kinda offence cannot lah...Originally posted by tastybanana:URA..

I mean write a letter to them or call them? or I need to go down there personnelly.. -

But do you think that you can even find a parking space if the authorities actually allows people to park for a grace period of say 5 mins. Every single person will be using the same excuse of parking there for just a while to go to the toilet and in fact going to eat their lunch.
Aiya it is always the outside moon being fuller and brighter. No point comparing with other countries.
Next time if you want to go toilet. Find a petrol station. Orelse just place a coupon.
For this time round, you can go and appeal to URA if you want to. Just state that you are in a rush to go to the loo. -

i dont think they will waive it away lor. I tat time kana at targo lane, went to sent some document for abt 10 min , come back i kana a $50 summon liao. Went to talk to them also no use

Read the rules properly.. it says sumtin about dun nid to pay the fine until their verdict comes out or sumtin.
I used tis a while back, got my summons waived. They say since i 'first time' offender, they give chance. But I've been summoned in other car parks quite a few times last time leh.. dunno whether they got keep track or not. Maybe only recently they document every summon?
anyhow, tis is one way for u. save the trip down unless u tink u personally talk got more chance -

For my case, I quite harsh and whack them cuz i had put many many coupon , just tat i tao chia a bit of e starting time, abt 10 mins. then e attendant come n whack me $30.
So i si bei du lan, in the end if have to pay, muz pay $30 + my coupons (abt $6). Whereas a real tao chia fella who put $0.50 only will only pay a summon of up to $20 + $0.50.
so i say its quite cock that a person who prepared to pay $6 of coupon kena fine $30, but a cheater can just put $0.50 and park whole day.
So they say waived.
But I dun like their system of stuff la. They say keep e coupons as proof and they may request it for evidence. but when u bring the coupons there to appeal or watever, they can say you peel after the summon just to get the summons waived.
So how to defend urself???? With camera being fitted into hphones n many devices, they should install it into their ticketing machine oso. Make e attendant take a shot of the offender to prove he got no coupon, or if he have, how many. At least like tat the real victims can appeal if time difference is 5-10 mins. They earn so much for summons, i'm sure can afford to get camera-enabled machines.

Keep e photo only for 14 days mah, after e summons paid or appeal thru liao can delete. So wun have too much data admin to do.
In fact wif the current system, u put coupon, the attendant dun like u can still summon you! Who's to prove tat u had coupon there???
I rembr got a case in papers one attendant dispute wif neighbour, then abuse his powers and keep summoning the neighbour everyday. So if u really kena one attendant who dun like u, can anytime sabo u!

well, my story was that i went to the store to pick up something. but owner say got to wait half hr. so i go back to my car to display coupon. away for only last that 5min....
So U have to show that u have the intension to display coupon and U r not away for more than 5 min.
IMO is better to write in than go there personally....
