Is COE cars really that Bad?

  Hi all....
  
  new to this forum.... recently been toying with the idea of getting a car..... since army days.....i have my eyes set on the honda civic 3 dr hatch....
  
  however after goin thru the posts here... ti seems the general consenses is to stay away from COE cars.......
  
  are they really that bad.......
  
  can someone point me in the direction of understand the costs of getting a car.....
  
  i actualyl got a 1k budget a month...... from company.......... so wanan look for soemthing that is easily maintained.......
  
  Are 2 -3 year old cars a better option instead????

  With the current pricing on new cars, which is consider relatively cheap, try not to go for one COE car......... just not worth the money and maintenance.
