Buying New Car (on tight budget)

Heya people!
Narrowed down a few choices. Main concerns are Fuel Consumption and Maintainance.
Need an Auto car pref under $60K.
1) Toyota Vios
2) Chev Aveo (4 dr)
3) Hyundai Matrix (1.6)
4) Hyundai Getz (1.6)

y not try the new daihatsu sirion. Make in Jap, under 60K, and 4 airbags, and better equipped than any of the 4 above? Best of all, it is toyota!!! Excellent FC as well.Originally posted by dlareg:Heya people!

Anyway... seems like Vios is the most popular. But haven't really herad any comments on the Chevrolet Aveo. Any idea how it matches up?
The March is too ex... same for City... would have to expand budget... not something i'm too keen on.

Those who get Chevrolet Aveo get it because of its looks. Its power, handling, FC isn't much to talk about. Do go down and have a look at their showroom. If I haven't heard rumors that its FC is about the same as Getz, I would have booked 1.Originally posted by dlareg:hmmm...

If you are looking for Auto car, I suggest you seriously consider City (idsi). For its FC, you could easily save S$5k in 10years for moderate driving. Savings will be much much more when you compare it with Matrix. I mean since you aren't jumping into Vios, you must have wanted something different from other people. -
suggest you go for vios if FC main piority.Maxtrix drink alot...
if not go for 2-3yrs old Honda City, good FC and under 50K.
another choice is Piccato- Heard quite good FC and very cheap.. think from 40K above -

Bring a experience driver, best if he does how to drive aggressively. Get big family members or friends along to test space and power during test-driving. Don't be afraid to ask for a test-drive. Don't sit down with them to discuss payments and plans..... only waste your time. Get their namecard enough, so later you can call for an update of the price. Spend you time browsing the cars' interior and test-driving. If you are considering Picanto, you can also consider Kelisa. Both are Cheap nice car that can easily hit above 16km/L FC. Do check out Swift, very quiet cabin when I last sit in 1. Oh ya, if you have time, check out those cars above your budget. So you want what you are missing while saving those few thousand. Manual Lancer is a nice car to test. Will let you experience decent power and good handling. -

Don't tell me Sirion have that cute meter board behind the steering wheel too? I always thought Sirion seems longer. Didn't know they are of the same platform. I hear Tucson price dropped below 70K... but consumption will kill you.
How about Honda City?
I used to think it looked weird... Looked like a sedan version of the Honda Fit... then I realized that it IS a sedan version of the Honda Fit. It was released as the first variant of the Honda Fit. In Japan, they call it the Fit-Aria.
So now it doesn't look so weird anymore

Buy wat buy..buy bicycle la....wa lau.....Singapore cars now so expensive and I heard the Fuel price will increase also. Sure will hurt alot of those on a budget.
Better analyse carefully whether you need a car a not and also analyse the hidden cost ah.....
Don't be trick by the slick adverts for all these cars, simi pay only $800+ la, and all that.....

I believe thread starter have already calculated the neceesary expenses. If no, he would have asked about the price of car ownership. So let's supply him with the necessary info. Anyway, Bloop... also mention the best auto car (in my opinion) around the budget. If not, smaller cars like picanto and kelisa might be a good choice. Oh, forgot to mention Lancer. Though many hated the CVT, there are still a decent population who support it. Ultimately, choose a manual whenever possible, it is cheaper and have a better FC. Don't be lazy and you will find your wallet a little more loaded. -

Personally I'm driving a manual 1.6 Sunny SS. Good car. Was also considering this car especially since the price has dropped to the 50K+ region. Bust hesitant cos FC for a full tank of 50L will get me only 450km. Decent i guess but was hoping for more.
As for getting a manual again... hard. Cos my gf only drive auto la -

Usually people are only concerned that the wife drives Auto, you are the first I know who think of gf. Tying knot soon?
