Me too. ......Actually I am already in the red for the last 3 months. Can't stop modding. And a little accident set me back further. Lucky I have enough savings to at least tide me through for the next 1 year or so, even if I mod away 1k per month. Recent job change isn't helping either, but at least it is a upgrade from my pervious job.Originally posted by rumie:I can't. The car is taking up whatever money I have left. After calculation, with the bills and everything else, I've about $100 left a month, which is usually non-existence~
How abt you people?
Mine is a investment saving account. 2 year later, you can take any amount out any time you want. I just a lump sum and cover that 2 years, so technically speaking, I can start taking anytime I want now.Originally posted by Ah Wei:Well, another way you can try is to force yourself to commit to saving insurance. Believe there's another term for that......... but the only catch is that the money can only be taken out in 10-15 yrs time, depending on how long you pay......
Single here, so now is the time to have fun. Anyway, taking the car apart and DIY stuff and put it back can be consider a hobby, just a very ex one. I calculated that if I am still single in the future, I have about 3 years to save up for housing. Loan ends in 5 years time, and 3 years later, I will be 35.Originally posted by Dracoblu:...... just got hitch not too long ago and thus have spend also a large chunk of saving in housing, reno, funiture and such ... another big spender is coming also .. haiz .. so years of saving also dont seems to be enuz ....
Prefer not to spend so much on car so that I can eat better and still buy some other stuff I like ...![]()
I once heard a friend analyse that if you can't save at least 1 hour from drving per day, that it isn't worth it. I reduced my time of going to work from 1.75 hours to 0.5 hours per trip. Meaning 2.5 hours saving per day just because of work.Originally posted by Bloop...:......I calculated monthly car expense on an average milage of 50km a day at $1.7 per litre of petrol.. which I'll never reach (at most average of 20 km a day... and will use cheaper petrol too).......![]()

Who? Me? Maybe. All my friends around me are hitched and many have planned or already married. In my group of friends, once hitched then you never see him again. So I have to keep looking for new friends. All old friends gone, so sometimes might feel a little desperate.Originally posted by Bloop...:My God!! You sound like you're dying to get married![]()
Depends on your pirority. I still haven't have enough fun with my car. Like my friend, they can save up 12k in a year just to use it in a trip up some mountains. Only 3 weeks time. Key is to have fun when young, cause even if you have money when old, you are still limited by your own age.Originally posted by choppers:hmmm after reading this topic.. it spurred meeven further to stop driving... with driving i saved abt $500.. if i dun, i save abt $1500.....![]()
