If you take everything in consideration - OMV, Consumption, etc... - Korean cars may not be the best buys...
Consider a parallel import Honda Fit 1.3L... about 66k now... if you scrap in 5 years you get (I think) 75% of OMV (high OMV - 1.3 Fit is 100% made in Japan) + COE rebate..., then you consider the 16km/l consumption... low road tax...
May be a better buy than high consumption, low OMV, Korean cars...
