That depends on what you want. Honda civic is know for performance, very good handling, and engine .
But then you will find some other cars are better in cabin stuff.
So depend on what you want.

Hi,
I'm currently driving a Honda Civic ES8 (2001). Thinking of selling it away though, and might just be doing that.
The new civic are not know for power. In fact, they are rather weak, esp the 1.5 and 1.6l auto. Not too sure about the manual one though. If you could afford, I'll suggest you go for the Vti-S manual. At least much more powerful. Of cos, the insurance will be a bit high.
Below is the personal view on my own civic.
Pros:- 1) Good passenger seating space behind, esp the flooring is flat 2) A big boot 3) Smooth engine 4) Reasonable petrol consumption 5) Stable (1100kg+)
Cons:- 1) Engine lack power 2) Encounter problem with aircon compressor twice 3) Getting kinda common nowsaday, esp black one for the new civic (just my personal view). 4) Automatic gearbox tends to virbrate in gear one if ATF is dirty. 5) Expensive insurance from some insurance company.
Hope this helps..........

agree on the lack of power compared to previous models. the manual version is quite easy to drive, v accurate shifting. i feel the auto version is very sluggish in comparison. the air con thing is a known problem, have to put in air con filters to help with tt problem (they do NOT come standard). yes agree the black ones v common driving one.

The new civic is coming soon. Why not hold yr horses first. New civic very radical in design. It's splashed across most local car mag after its debut in some international motorshow.

current civic has lost all the " push " and all comes in sohc rather then DOHC where we get from the EK and EG series ... i suggest u hold ur buck and get a jazz/fit instead , good FC , cheaper and easier for everyday driving in singapore .. of course if u hv the dough , can always opt for the Integra GsR which i think is the nearest u can get to the vtec " kick ".. at $80K+ it's even cheaper when the SiR first came out back then which cost near the $100k tag....
