The reduced rates are still higher than NTUC Income Car Cooperative.Originally posted by pqr:Hi,

the timing is better than NTUC and the total cost to join is also higherOriginally posted by F Takumi:
How can that be? are you comparing to the valueshare plan or the standard plan?Originally posted by F Takumi:
does it mean the 24-hr weekday special dun have any restriction on mileage?Originally posted by pqr:Hi,

the new 24 hr package is a saver for those who drive less than 100 km on weekdays. The charge of every km travelled of $0.40 remain the same.Originally posted by zenixth:does it mean the 24-hr weekday special dun have any restriction on mileage?
if the 24-hr can be extended to apply on saturdays or sundays, it would be nicer.
Looking at overall cost, CitySpeed is higher than Car Coop.Originally posted by pqr:the timing is better than NTUC and the total cost to join is also higher
membership of NTUC = $ 20 x 12 = $240 / yr;2x more expensive than cityspeed.
Of course compared to Valueshare Plan.Originally posted by pqr:How can that be? are you comparing to the valueshare plan or the standard plan?
can you show me some calculation? I find cityspeed rate to be cheaper than NTUC. Thanks
that maybe in your case.Originally posted by F Takumi:If you are really a occasional user, you are better off with car rental than car sharing.
I'm not sure about your case. I'm now enjoying the low rates of Car Coop Valueshare plan and has no intention to switch to CitySpeed.Originally posted by pqr:that maybe in your case.
Not mine.

it is cheaper IF you do not travel more than 100km!Originally posted by LH83:Oh goody... I haven't tried the 24 hours package yet, since it was kinda ex.. now that the price has dropped... it's even better... yay!!
Under Car Coop, you pay $74 with free 120km, which is much cheaper.Originally posted by free4ever:I would probably rephase it as rates are more flexible.
Say you drive for exactly 100km:
For Gp A
Old scheme, you pay $73.90 (free 100km)
new scheme $32.90 (free 0km) + $40 (for 100km) = $72.90
Not much difference actually, but if you dont drive for 100km, then the flexibility comes in, and yes, it is cheaper, in a sense not much sunk cost.
I see it as a marketing tactic to more ultilise their cars. As for why they don't extend this scheme to weekends (till only friday 1900 - Sat 1900) is that on weekends, they have a shortage of cars, esp sat evenings and sun.
There's still the 100km mileage? Hrm... anyway, Singapore's only about 42km from East to West... should be enough...Originally posted by pqr:it is cheaper IF you do not travel more than 100km!
Remb there is still at $0.40 per km charge hor
you never mentioned that it is under the ValueShare Plan which requires a minimum monthly use of 55 ValuePoints...meaning unless you use the car often enough, you cannot get at $74 for 120 kmOriginally posted by F Takumi:Under Car Coop, you pay $74 with free 120km, which is much cheaper.
no...there is no 100km mileage...but if you tend to drive more than 100km, then you maybe better off getting a rental car instead from car sharing...Originally posted by LH83:There's still the 100km mileage? Hrm... anyway, Singapore's only about 42km from East to West... should be enough...
Can rent one to share with frens when going for ICT briefing... hee...

Conclusion: examine you intended driving patterns and make a decision. Things are not as simple as the prices you see in those advertised tables[/b]
If you have really calculated the distance you travelled carefully, it is not just 42km from east to west. Yes, in a straight line or expressway it is, but dont forget, you dont just travel from east to west and back to east again, like a delivery man.Originally posted by LH83:There's still the 100km mileage?
