continental/ luxury oriented cars suffer from one major prob.Originally posted by payne:May i know how is the fuel consumption of BMW 5 and 7 series. For e.g 520i and 730i and the Jaguar S-type 2.5?
Does these car engine have any technology to help to produce efficient fuel consumption?
Funny leh, thot pple who wanna get luxury car only care about status and look, don't think FC is a concern...Can afford luxury car cannot afford petrol ?Originally posted by payne:May i know how is the fuel consumption of BMW 5 and 7 series. For e.g 520i and 730i and the Jaguar S-type 2.5?

don't think it's wrong to be prudent about the FC. yea can afford is one thing, but if can save petrol then why not?Originally posted by alien_04:Funny leh, thot pple who wanna get luxury car only care about status and look, don't think FC is a concern...Can afford luxury car cannot afford petrol ?
Anyway, BMW 730i FC is ard 7 to 8
I agree, of course they can afford say a fuel consumption of say 5km/l, but do they want to spend on that or not is another thing, most probably...no. If you have a chance, talk to these rich people and you will understand. In fact, this is something common among the rich people, at least the few that I have met. Rich people is rich people, spendthrift is another type of people altogether....Originally posted by HENG@:don't think it's wrong to be prudent about the FC. yea can afford is one thing, but if can save petrol then why not?
For BMW, the engineering of the engine development is in such a way that a new engine replacing a old one is usually more efficient than the old one. Efficiency in terms of more power for same amount of displacement, less fc consumption for bigger engine, etc.Originally posted by payne:May i know how is the fuel consumption of BMW 5 and 7 series. 2 litres car quite standard, 1L 8-10km. 3 litres around 1L 6-8. BMW never bother much about fuel comsumption, its build totally for sporty driving and comfort. European cars generally have heavier body thus increasing fuel comsumption, you can hardly see much european cars with good FC but it happens to asia cars due to concentration research of FC and also, their light bodies. Don't be surprised 745i has better FC than 730i due to the lesser effort needed to drag the big piece of machine. So, power to weight ratio is important and also, style of driving too. cheers!~Originally posted by payne:May i know how is the fuel consumption of BMW 5 and 7 series.
