in 3 dr cars... the 3rd door is normally the one where the boot is... normally associated with 2 door hatchbacks..
in 4 dr cars.. self explanatory... usually used to describe ur normal saloon cars..
in 5 dr cars... the 5th door is usually the door where the boot is... normally used to describe 4 door hatchbacks..
it is by no means accurate... just use it like a general guide... coz the manufacturers can call their cars whatever they want to..

Put it this way, as long as the piece of "thing" on a car with a glass(window) can be opened for access into the car, it is considered a door...
