What is considered high mileage?

What is considered low/average/high mileage?
What is your mileage like?
Some people use the car everyday, and some people do not. I have seen some 10yr old cars in sg car mart doing 150,000 - 180,000km.. Is that considered average or high?
I consider my mileage very high because i live in serangoon and study in the west. I took over the car around May last year @ 55,000km. Now the odo meter is reading @ 99,372km.
I just wanna compare my mileage with the other fourmites here..
So, in my case, scrapping the vehicle after 5 or 10 years is better than selling it? -
Unless u have a spare car that you use very unfrequently the chances of low mileage is not high. Cars are meant to be used and u still have to do servicing very 3mths- 4 mths regardless of whether you are using the car. A high mileage one will be those frequent Malaysia travellers.. other then tat the average mileage per day should be 100 plus

For me, its 5 times round the earth. Pole to pole circumference is 40000km.

I did about 2000+ per month and I am considered normal by another forum. I had friends who did 16k within 3 months. Or those sales who can easily do 500 per day. 40k per year is just slightly higher than average, I think.

I station in KL, I hit 20-25K per 3 months but mostly highway so need to service almost every month. I'm driving a Proton Wajar, its 2 yrs now think this kind of mileage in Spore, the car no one will want liao but I feel that the car still going fine. Think mileage is not the only thing to determin the fitness of the car. Sporean got funny thinking, low mileage=good?? Think stop and go type of trafic hurt the car more.

Let's say a driver drives 6 days to and from work, x 52 weeks = 312 days. And let's say this driver drives 30km per way (e.g., Woodlands to town, Changi to town, Jurong to town). Thus, annually, the driver travels 312 x 30 x 2 = 18720km. Thus, I would say that annual mileage in the range 15000-18000km is reasonable, whereas anything more than 18000km would be considered excessive.

but unfortunately, in the absence of a proper benchmark, mileage will still be the fundamental factor for most ppl in determining the condition of the engine. u dun expect ppl to know the condition of the engine otherwise now would u? -
The milage meter can be tampered with... The best is to make purchases from Authorised Dealers, as for second hand cars have the car checked before committing. -
I take 20k km as a benchmark, of course exceed a bit should be ok but not too much...

Yup, i believe the national average is 20000km-25000km per annual.
I once read in an article that a Hyundai Sonata hit 300,000km in 3 yrs! Guess that must be the national record?
Anyway my ride is 3 yrs 9 mnths old, and its approaching 120,000km. Have already sell it off............ and due to collect my new car next mnth.
Will be heartpain to see the mileage of my new ride piling up. But then if buy a car and dun make full use of it, no point as well.

Me station in KL, back only 3-5 days a month in Spore. My ride in KL already clock 195k++ in 2 yrs 3 months, my baby in Spore clock 40K++ in 3yrs 6months.
