Hi all,
The 'ding2' sound means the air in the tyre is as much as what was programmed when you first started. However if you started at 3000 psi then off course your tyres will explode. BTW 'psi' stands for pounds per square inch. That figure for our tyres is usually about 20-23 psi say. The metric equiivalent is 220 or 230 kps. If you check your tyres in a SPCstation you can see the difference as their pumps have 2 measurements. If you are travelling north to Msia, ie driving for hours on the N-S expressway, then you might increase it by 5-10%.
But remember that overinflated tyres provide better fc and grip in turning. they also 'burst' rapidly and are a bit more difficult to control in the event it 'bursts'. Underinflated tyres give a higher fc but when they 'burst' will be much easier to control when driving. So don't overdo it either way. All my comments are subject to confirmation by the TC mechanics on Sat.
Have you seen your spare tyre?. It meant to be used only at slow speeds and on a temporary basis, eg not over 50 kms
For those who are interested knowing how to change their tyres, I suggest they meet earlier on Sat and arrange for a volunteer. It's dead simple.

over inflated tyres gives better fc but lesser grip while under inflated is vice versa.
i know this cos in the army, they (the B vehicles) purposely let out air when going challenging terrains to gain more grips. of course wear and tear on the tyre wall will also be greater. -

You are right for off-road terrain. But for tarred roads over-inflated tyres will provide better grip 'in turning' as their side walls are stronger and flex less during turns. But I could stand corrected.

my remote (and the wallet) went in the washing machine this morning!
no wonder i couldnt find them when i was about going to work.
now the Tan Chong zip pouch which holds the remote (that went in together) smells very good.

Did you use softener?
Seriously if you use a hair dryer it might work if the circuits are not shorted. So if it gets drenched, don't operate the key but dry it first with a hair dryer on the 'inside circuit. Have tried it with my handphone and also my car keys
Also I am willing to help if I can on that Sat.
I had suggested drinks, pre-start side show on changing tyres etc and also how we can frame the photos. I am still open to suggestions but try and get me early (not as in mornings but as in days)

surprisingly the waterproofing of the remote is quite good.
the internal (press button part) is one piece moulded rubber. the joints are quite well sealed by the rubber.
water seeped in a little into the battery compartment but not the electronics. just required a little drying off and airing. maybe the damage was partly shielded off by the Ah Mah zip pouch (by tan chong)?
if this can survive washing machine i dun see why it cant survice splashing from rain.
