THE wiper problem..

On rainy days how i envy other drivers..
Though the screen is wet, but my wiper just don go smooth on the screen. its like striking something invisible. While wipers on other cars go back and forth smooth... mine just.... hops... ( if u get wat i mean )
The wipers not damaged and the screen is wet. Anyone out there have any idea? Thanks. -
If theres nothing wrong with the wipers, then it must be the car.

Did you apply anything on your windscreen like Rain X etc? That could be the cause of your juddering wipers.

did u use wash & wax shampoo? this is one of the usual causes. go over ur glass with a clean cloth and white vinegar.
if this still fails, check ur wiper. did u replace with one of same lenght or longer?
longer wiper will need more power for the arms to operate, tat may b the root of problems.
also, if u used rain-X, this may also b problem -

Ohh doh, Yep i applied rain X .. but that was like 1 month ago. Ill try the vinegar thing. Thanks.

you can use soap to wash the windscreen and newspaper to wipe it ...
Never apply Rain X as it stay on the windscreen ...

Rain x , didnt really meet up to my expectations. Still needa use the wiper on rainy days. And when i do, the wipers don go smooth. Could try on the side windows though.Originally posted by digicharat:what is rain x?

I get very irritated when my wiper is jumping, i used to change my wiper blades almost very 2 mths, it works for a while then it will jump again or it becomes noisy with the screeching rubbing noise.
i came across from Tan Chong Motors that offer silicon coated wiper blades, it works well, no longer jumping and rubber rubbing noise. I'd used it for almost a year now without changing the blades. I don't recall the cost but it is something like $30-50 for a pair, but don't quote me, it being almost a year now. At least it brought me peace of mind when it rains .... -

I had a similar experience and if you change you windscreen, i am sure it will cost you a bomb...The prob lies in the windscreen whereby you could have coated with some liquid or during your wax at the service ctr, they could have accidentally applied it onto your windscreen..
Dun frown. Use soap and wash the whole windscreen..I blve that will solve you a hole in your pocket. -
