it really easy to pass if u dun try any stunts =)

on blind spot, i usually chk side mirror before over shoulder for blind spot.but sometimes got marked for "take too long in chking blindspot" also. -

check side mirror is different from checking blind spot.
checking blind spot too long is juz as same as u reversing without looking at the rear window. Or rather..looking at the back when u drive forward. -

just wanna share my driving test experience. took private instructor. took lessons for almost 2 yrs then pass on the 5th time. really, really close.... passed in feb, final theory gonna expired the very next mth. luckily i passed, if not must take final theory again...
took at bbdc. got 12 pts. -

my 2-cents worth of advice for those taking their tp..
don't forget, don't ever forget, to check your blind-spots... this may carry small pts but it may bring a lot.
n of course don't mount the kerb. that is immediate failure. (duh!!!)
s-course, crank-course... open your eyes. if u must, don't just sit back. move your body forward to check left & right.
in the circuit, listen properly.. sometimes instructor say go here or turn here. check if there is any arrow or sign that says whether can or cannot. sometimes they want to see whether you know how to read the signs but sometimes they see some obstructions in front so he wants to go short-cut (to finish the circuit faster).. thats y, check the signs then tell him "Eh, the sign say no left turn!" .... n see what he reply...

on the road, when doing U turn, i will perform that subaru stunt 180 degree turn.
and i pass my tp.

just one more thing if you get scolded by the examiner dun panic. i got scolded by the examiner then go outside awhile he ask me take shortcut back le, in the end i still pass first time too

How to change lane nicely at peak hour. Look out for fellow "L" plate comrade and cut them or whack when there's chance..

If Im not wrong, out of 10 qualified drivers, 10 of them dont check blind spot at all. at most bio when see something big coming. -
Sorry to tell you, only 1 out of 10 don't check blind spot. When you start driving normal, meaning not the leftmost lane, you will soon learn that a whole damn 2000cc car can squeeze itself into you blind spot. There is a reason when TP are so particular about Blind spot checking. It took me several horns to make me pick it up again after years of not driving. I also horn a few myself. -

Encountering drivers who don't check blind spot during ur L-plate doesn't mean that nobody checks their blind spot..

No one check blindspot turning their head more than 90 degree. Don't expect people to check blindspot like when they do when filtering out of a left turn. I dont really believe this, if you drive carefully, with confidence and makes no mistake. Im sure he hes no reason to fail you. Just dont give him a blur panic face with tension feeling.
Imagine you sit beside the taxi driver and the driver look panic and hand trembling on the steering wheel. Im sure you sure want to get off even thou he can drive well.
There was once I saw 1 guy swearing after his TP went bonk...
I dont think that is necessary, dont book TP if you think you cant pass and dont have that standard of driving skill yet. Waste money and time. Dont blame TP kelong or whatever just because he fail you. -

Guess it depends on your luck of getting a lenient tester...took my TP at SSDC in mid April this yr at the 2pm slot. As I was the only AUTO car on test for that slot amongst the 10 testees, I felt abit weird lor. The Chief tester gave the same speech as he probably does to everyone before their test..."Have confidence...blah blah...I passed my test on the 1st try...blah blah..." and so on.
Then came the drawing of the Routes you were gonna take. Really like lucky draw but I can say that all the 10 routes aren't much diff...just have confidence and you'll make it through without much demerit pts. Just show the tester you aren't at all afraid and nervous..have confidence when moving off and turning, reversing and parking...and on the road. If you clear the circuit without much hassle, you're 95% there. I really feared the reverse vertical parking as that was my weak point. But as long as you show the guy in white that you know what you are doing and always always show him that you're checking for blind spots no matter wat..you'll pass
In fact I did not expect to pass on the first try, after the test ended he lef me up to the de-briefing room and go over my test. He kept saying, "You never check your blind spot enough...blah blah....you almost hit that Land Rover in front of you at that junction...blah blah....too slow in moving off...blah blah..." but in the end he gave me 8 demerit points and pass me on my first try.
Needless to say I was shocked and delighted at the same time, and let me tell you the feeling of watching that Safety video after you passed was great
Basically just have confidence while driving during your test and show the tester you know what you're doing at all times. Good luck to those taking their TP soon -

Male lar....and I think the ladies that were taking their TP at the same timeslot with me all wore skirts and sleeveless tops....coincidence?

Yeah know wat u mean, glad it's over liao...Like wat the army always says, "Do it once Do it good" Didn't want to spend any more money to get my license man...total spent on SSDC was abt $1.5k...from Basic Theory all the way to that $50 spent on the photocard license
